- II. AA Support
-
- AmigaVision Professional has limited support for the AA chip set.
- On an Amiga which has the AA chip set, AmigaVision Professional
- can display pictures and animations which take advantage of the
- AA resolutions.
-
- There are some limitations to note when using AmigaVision to
- display AA images:
-
- - Any AA picture loaded into the Screen icon will set the
- Screen requester to "File Defined". You cannot use Adjust
- Color or re-define the picture's attributes (such as
- overscan or number of colors).
-
- - Color-cycling can not be used on AA graphics.
-
- - Not all Screen transitions will work on AA graphics. Preview
- transitions before you use them and do not use the Random
- Screen transition. Transitions look better with Mode
- Promotion turned OFF.
-
- - When selecting colors for hit boxes or other objects in the
- Object Editor, you get a palette of only the first 32 colors
- to choose from. If you need objects of specific colors placed
- over AA graphics, create a brush of that object and use a Brush
- object to display it.
-
-
- III. MIDI Support
-
- The AVMIDI.library has been replaced by two separate libraries.
- You will find the camd.library and the realtime.library on your
- AmigaVision disk set. These libraries will be copied to your LIBS:
- directory by the Install_AV script.
-
-
- IV. Changes to Documentation
-
- A. Page 2-27. Replace the NTSC/PAL Screens explanation with the
- following:
-
- DEFAULT/NTSC/PAL Screens:
- When set to DEFAULT Screens, AmigaVision Professional will
- open a PAL or NTSC screen based on what your system is and
- will promote that screen if Mode Promotion is set in the
- IControl Preferences editor.
-
- When set to NTSC Screens, graphics are always displayed in
- non-promoted NTSC mode. A PAL Screens setting will cause
- graphics to always be displayed in non-promoted PAL mode. Set
- the gadget to NTSC or PAL Screens when using video with
- AmigaVision Professional.

- D. Page 7-15. After the explanation about the Text Window, add the
- following:
-
- You can create Text Windows in icons other than the Text Icon
- (such as the Mouse Wait or GFX Icons). To make the PageUp,
- PageDown, LineUp, and LineDown hit boxes affect a Text Window
- that has been placed in an icon other than a Text Icon, make
- the Text Window, PageUp, PageDown, LineUp, and LineDown
- objects the sub-objects of the same super object. Creating
- PageUp, PageDown, LineUp and LineDown hit boxes is described
- in the Text Icon section of Chapter 13.
-
-
- E. Page 7-24. After the paragraph which mentions the extended
- overscan feature, add the following:
-
- To set the background screen to one of the AA resolutions,
- you must load the actual AA picture file into the Filename
- field.
-
-
- F. Page 7-29. After the explanation of Select, add the following:
-
- Once an object is selected, you can use the Shift+Left-Arrow
- key combination to select the next object (same as choosing
- the Objects-Select-Next option). If the selected object is a
- Super Object, then Shift+Down-Arrow selects its sub-object.
- If the selected object is a Sub-Object, Shift+Up-Arrow
- selects its Super Object.

-
- G. Page 7-30. Replace the first line in the Mode explanation with
- the following:
-
- Indicates what happens once the object reaches the end of
- its path:
-
- Replace the Stop explanation with the following:
-
- Stop: When the object reaches the last point on the path,
- it stops moving.
-
- After the explanation for Stop, add the following:
-
- Remove: When the object reaches the last point on the path,
- the object is removed from the application.
-
-
- H. Page 8-7. Replace the explanation for the PATHMODE attribute
- with the following:
-
- Indicates what should happen to an object once it reaches
- the end of its path.
- Associated Objects: Any Object with a defined path.
- Valid Values: "Loop", "Bounce", "Stop", "Remove"
- Type: String Read/Write state: R/W

- I. Page 13-4. After the explanation of the first multistate
- gadget, add the following:
-
- To display AA pictures from the Screen icon, set the
- multistate gadget to File Defined. This ensures that the
- image is displayed using the resolution and number of
- colors saved with the ILBM file.
