  6. BEFORE YOU START
  7. ================

  9. Before  using  any of the programs, please make backup copies of your disks
  10. and  lock  away  your master disks.  That way, if you ever damage your disk
  11. you can always make a fresh working copy.
  12.  
  13. Computer Viruses
  14. ----------------
  15.  
  16. Sharing  disks with friends has become the major cause for the rapid spread
  17. of  computer  viruses.   Some of these are fairly harmless but nevertheless
  18. annoying.   Others  are  very  nasty  and  will  show varying symptoms from
  19. diskettes   not   loading  unless  not  write  protected,  diskettes  being
  20. destroyed,  programs  not  loading  or  crashing.  Once you have a virus in
  21. amongst  your  disks  they  are  difficult  to  get rid of, not to say time
  22. consuming.   imagine  spending  hours creating a story only to lose it all.
  23. Imagine collecting a years worth of data for a project and losing all that.
  24. Don't  risk  it.   Be extremely careful who you take disks from.  And don't
  25. give  disks  away.  If you already have a virus in amongst your disks, your
  26. friends will not thank you for corrupting their disks

  31. If  you  have  a 512K Amiga with an additional external disk drive, you may
  32. have  to  disconnect  that  drive  before you can load some of the enclosed
  33. programs.

  35. TERMINOLOGY
  36. -----------

  38. In  this document, to click on something means to move the mouse pointer to
  39. and item and then press the left mouse button.  To double click is to press
  40. the left mouse button twice rapidly.

  42. Some  of  the  programs take quite some time to load, please be patient and
  43. NEVER take a disk out if the green disk light is on
  44.  
  45.  
  46. REMEMBER,  some  of  the  programs  take  up to a minute to load and whilst
  47. loading,  the  screen  may not show any activity for a while.  If the green
  48. "drive" light is still on, your program is still loading.

  50. Getting going
  51. -------------

  53. Calendar Quiz is very simple in concept.  Simply turn your Amiga on, put in
  54. the disk and wait for it to load.
  55.  
  56. Point  the  mouse  and click at any of the green selection "buttons" on the
  57. screen to choose the activity you want.
  58.  
  59. Once  the  individual  activity  is  loaded, follow the instructions on the
  60. screen.
  61.  
  62. Note  that  all of the selection "buttons" have a letter in the box eg <A>.
  63. Instead  of clicking with the mouse, you can select the activity by holding
  64. down the control key on the keyboard and pressing this letter.

  66. Clicking  on  the  Main  Menu  box  will,  as it says, take you back to the
  67. starting point of the program.

  69. If  you  want  to finish a particular activity before the end, pressing the
  70. ESC key will take you back to the menu
