DARK PASSAGES:
Quick Start Reference
THE GAME
In Dark Passages, your goal is to travel down, through level
after level of evil creatures to reach the final goal of
defeating the Dark Lords and stopping their invasion.
You do this by finding the exit on each level and descending
deeper into the Underdark.
On each level, also, there may be Lock Hexes. These are
impassable blocks or doors with a symbol on them. Find
a maching symbol somewhere in the dungeon and break its shape
to open the Lock and continue on.
At the end of each area, there will be a Guardian. The Guardian
must be defeated in single combat in order for you to leave that
area.
KEY COMMANDS
Dark Passages uses the following key commands:
<ARROW KEYS> - Move around
<BACKSPACE> - Show the Help Screen
<SPACE BAR> - Attack/Fire
<ESCAPE> - Show the Main Menu
<TAB> - Use the Helm (if you have it)
OBJECTS
You can touch an object to activate or get it. In each
Guardian's chamber there will be a special object you can get.
Other objects include: Healing Herbs, Poison Blood, Accus Weed,
Wild Vines, Siege Bombs, Siege Bolts, Hour Glasses, etc.
With the registered version of Dark Passages, you will get a
manual that explains in more detail the effects of each of the
objects, each of the characters you can play, and each of the
special objects you can use. In addition, it is full of
background information on the world of Dark Passages, and it
is fully illustrated.
