This ist the first level of SKAPHANDER, the first commercial game
created with the ACKNEX/CubicSpace virtual game toolkit. Start with GO.
At beginning select the difficulty level by typing 1, 2 or 3.

ACKNEX / conitec Virtual Game Toolkit Info
With the conitec VR Toolkit you can develop commercial
3-D action, role playing or racing games WITHOUT programming.
This is no toy!
Features
--------
Hardware: Minimum 486SX-25, standard VGA, 4 MB
RAM. Game control with joystick, mouse
and keyboard. Sound via Soundblaster,
Adlib or Roland MPU.
Landscapes: First person perspective. Textured walls,
floors, ceilings, backgrounds, things and
actors. Player light source plus ambient shading.
Dynamic 3-D virtual reality engine renders
backgrounds, floors, ceilings and walls at
any height and any angle (NEW: floors and
ceilings may be tilted!).
Degrees of freedom:
Forward/backward, left/right, up/down, rotation,
tilt (up to nearly 90), zoom. User-definable
motion dynamics with gravity, friction and inertia.
Resolution: 320x200, 320x240 or 320x400 Pixels in 256
Colors on standard VGA (no VESA driver
required!).
Performance: 6 Frames/sec (Res. 320x200, 486SX-25
Notebook with LCD VGA)
15 Frames/sec (Res. 320x200, 486DX-66 with
Local Bus VGA)
33 Frames/sec (Res. 320x200, Pentium-90 with
PCI VGA)
Full resolution of 320x400 Pixels gives 60% of the
above performances. Dynamic Motion Blur
Effect increases the given performance by 50%.
Textures: Animated bitmaps (PCX or LBM) for Objects,
Walls, Floors, Sky. All textures can be scaled.
Depth-cueing, Shading and transparency. Bitmap cache
swaps bitmaps to harddisk on systems with less
memory.
Screen: Sixteen layers for weapon/cockpit overlays and
panels with user definable bar and digit displays.
Sound/Music: Soundblaster or compatible, Adlib, Roland
MPU401 or MPU401-compatible wavetable
synthesizer. No customer installation required;
the hardware configuration (ports, interrupts) is
automatically detected!
Sound FX: VOC and WAV, 8 channel polyphonic sound.
Distance-dependent volume control for textures.
Music: MID format with percussion. IBK files for
instruments and drums.
Actions: Each wall, region, thing or actor is a state machine
with event controlled behaviour. You can
program the behaviour of the world with our
game definition language (WDL).
Prices: $99.- restricted version (max 1500 vertices per
level, 1 level per game), $1450.- unrestricted
professional version with game compiler (plus
$20.- overseas shipping).
Royalites from 50 cents to $3.- per game copy,
dependent on the game price and size.
For use at shows, events, public places, with
arcade machines etc. a special royalty agreement
is necessary.
