  7. What is it?
  8. ===========

  10. This is the fourth part of a collection of background pix for your WB.
  11.  
  12. All the images are (and also will be in future) ...
  13.  
  14.   - actually used by myself for my own WB (so they *MUST* be good! ;-))
  15.  
  16.   - using the colours of Roman Patzner's ROM-Icons palette, so you only
  17.     need a 16-colour WB for these really nice pix! :-)
  18.  
  19.   - scaled, cropped and rendered with ADPro with Floyd-Steinberg
  20.     dithering for best results
  21.  
  22.   - saved in IFF-ILBM format, so you don't need any alien datatype or
  23.     have to wait ages until they are decoded and rendered on screen
  24.  
  25.   - 720x520 pixels in size and so perfectly fit for DblPAL screens
  26.  
  27.   - having a Fantasy theme - yes, I LOVE pix of Boris Vallejo and AD&D!

  30. Requirements
  31. ============

  33. You need a WB with a locked 16 colour ROM-Icons palette or one with more
  34. colours and enough (at least 6) free pens for the images to look as they
  35. should.
  36.  
  37. If you need colour locking you should install FullPalette from Aminet.
  38. Just use one of these images to get the needed palette settings from!
  39.  
  40. A standard 8-colour MagicWB is just not enough!

  43. Installation
  44. ============

  46. Have a look at the images with your favourite picture viewer to see which
  47. you like and which you don't (...you'll like'em all, by the way... ;-) ).
  48.  
  49. Then copy all these images to your image dir and set them as usual with
  50. your WBPattern prefs.
  51.  
  52. Hints: -Use a random WB pattern tool (like Aminet:util/boot/RandomBG.lha)
  53.         to have a different randomly selected background pic each boot.
  54.  
  55.        -Install FBlit (from Aminet) to keep image data in Fast mem and so
  56.         save your precious Chip mem usually needed for this.
