  3.                     The EtherLink 10 NIC Family
  4.             Installing a NIC in a NetWare OS/2 ODI Client
  5.  
  6. This section describes how to install the driver for an OS/2 client.
  7.  
  8. 1.  Install the OS/2 operating system on the computer.
  9.  
  10. 2.  Download the latest version of the Novell NetWare Requester from one
  11.     of the following:
  12.  
  13.     -  Novell's ftp site: ftp.novell.com
  14.     -  NetWire: On CompuServe, type: go Netwire
  15.  
  16. 3.  Insert the first NetWare Requester diskette in the floppy drive.
  17.  
  18. 4.  Go to the Drives icon and bring up the drive for the NetWare Requester
  19.     Install diskette.
  20.  
  21. 5.  Bring up the installation bar and single-click Installation.
  22.  
  23. 6.  Double-click INSTALL.EXE.
  24.  
  25. 7.  Follow the on-line instructions to install the NetWare Requester on the
  26.     computer.
  27.  
  28. 8.  Type the name of the target directory where the Requester files will be
  29.     copied.
  30.  
  31. 9.  Choose the ODI LAN driver from the list that appears.
  32.  
  33. 10. Click on the "v" in the information bar. You will be asked to insert
  34.     the diskette labeled WSDRV_1, or the diskette containing the
  35.     third-party ODI driver.
  36.  
  37. 11. Insert the WSDRV_1 diskette.
  38.  
  39. 12. Select the 3Com driver from the list of ODI drivers.
  40.  
  41. 13. Complete the installation for the NetWare Requester.
  42.  
  43. 14. Install the EtherLink 10 ISA NIC and connect it to the network.
  44.  
  45. 15. Exit to DOS from OS/2 by doing one of the following:
  46.  
  47.     -  Boot your computer from a plain DOS diskette.
  48.  
  49.     -  In an OS/2 window, type:
  50.  
  51.        cd /OS2 [Enter]
  52.  
  53.        Then type:
  54.  
  55.        BOOT /DOS [Enter]
  56.  
  57. 16. Insert the EtherDisk #2 diskette in drive A and at the DOS prompt, type:
  58.  
  59.     A:\INSTALL [Enter]
  60.  
  61. 17. On the main menu, select Driver Installation and Update and press
  62.     [Enter].
  63.  
  64. 18. On the Network Drivers screen, select Install Novell NetWare Drivers
  65.     and press [Enter].
  66.  
  67. 19. On the Novell NetWare Drivers screen, select Copy OS/2 ODI Driver and
  68.     press [Enter].
  69.  
  70. 20. If you want to copy the driver to the NETWARE directory on drive C:
  71.     press [Enter]. Otherwise, type another drive letter and directory name
  72.     (for example, D:\ODIDRIVER), and press [Enter].

  74. 21. Reboot the computer.
