In order to install the 8432/8434 and 9332 Family PCI Ethernet and
Fast-Ethernet boards in a PCI machine, install the 8432/8434 or
9332 PCI board in your machine (make sure the slot you select
supports bus master operations!).
Motherboards with bus master jumpers and interrupt jumpers for PCI
slots:
- Enable bus master operations to the selected PCI slot using the
appropriate motherboard jumper.
- Select interrupt to the selected PCI slot using the appropriate
motherboard jumper.
- Enter the setup menu of your machine and:
o Enable bus master on the NIC's PCI slot.
o Enable I/O on the NIC's PCI slot.
o Define interrupt number on the NIC's PCI slot.
Motherboard with automatic PCI configuration:
- No specific setup is needed.
6. Installing Software:
Various network operating systems (NOS) provide utility programs for
installing drivers.
For some of the NOS the installation diskette provides support
FOR THE FIRST BOARD INSTALLED ONLY. If multiple boards are installed,
the second and subsequent boards must be installed manually. (See
section 6.5, Installing multiple boards).
6.1 Basic driver installation (for DOS-based, Window For Workgroups
and OS/2 NOS).
o Add the following line to CONFIG.SYS:
--- Missing END preprocessor command lines
