Version 1.31 2 June 1993
VERSION HISTORY
-- Version 1.31 (Current Version) --
Added code to use default configuration file name, PCAGENT.CFG,
if no file name is specified in the command line. PCAGENT will
retrieve the configuration file from the path where PCAGENT is
resided. If PCAGENT.CFG is not found, PCAGENT will continue
with some of the parameters not initialized.
-- Version 1.30 --
Reduced code size.
Validated the request message's community string for GETs and
GETNEXTs request.
Fixed a problem that will accept an erroneous community string
with the same length as the PCAGENT's community string, but with
a different last character.
Added sending RIP packets before sending traps to another
network in an IPX environment. This solves the problem of
duplicate trap messages received by the network-management
station.
Added "unload" capability.
Sent traps when unloading PCAGENT SNMP.
Added the ability to send traps in IP to the network-management
station on another IP subnet through an IP router. This requires
two additional variables, ipDfGwy and ipSubNetMask, to be set in
the configuration file.
Added more API supports.
Fixed problem with handling Ethernet source address with the
highest bit set to 1.
Fixed problem with handling incoming long SNMP request message.
Reported error if outgoing SNMP response message is too long.
Reported "SnmpBadValue" error if a MIB object value's length
specified in the received SNMP request is longer than expected.
-- Version 1.20 --
Removed smcDiscover from ASN.1 definitions because
smcDiscover is a transparent variable specific for discovery
process.
Changed ipForwarding from a ReadOnly variable to ReadWrite
variable.
Modified AutoDiscovery process to use a broadcast Get rather than a
broadcast Set for variable smcDiscover .
Reduced size about 2K.
Changed default value for smcDosWsTrapDstPro.1,
smcDosWsTrapDstPro.2, and smcDosWsTrapDstPro.3 to 1.
-- Version 1.10 --
Added APIs support to allow local application to retrieve and
manipulate MIB variables.
Fixed problems in sending out traps with IPX protocol.
Updated protocol definitions for PCAGENT traps. The protocols are
defined by MIB variables smcDosWsTrapDstPro.? (where ? = 1, 2, 3).
The updated definitions are :
2 = TCP/IP
3 = IPX with Ethernet II frame
4 = IPX with 802.2
5 = IPX with SNAP
6 = IPX with 802.3
Fixed problem in receiving and sending Ethernet 802.2 and
Ethernet Snap frame.
Eliminated support for /n(or /N) option for loading pcagent
because the source-routing problem is fixed in the Token-Ring
server driver version 1.13.
-- Version 1.01 --
Changed version number display to numeric only without any letter.
Modified error messages at load time.
Reported driver version in driver type MIB object.
Added total transmit collisions diagnostic counter.
Added support for IPX driver.
Re-arranged error messages and error-return codes.
Increased program stack size to accommodate longer command line.
Fixed problem that occurred with some computers when their BIOS
signature string exceeded 99 characters. If this occurs, the
string is truncated.
-- Version 1.00 --
Initial release.
