  5.    Introduction:
  6.    -------------
  7.       This document describes the procedure to install the SCO UNIX driver
  8.       for TE-16PnP Ethernet Card.
  9.  
  10.    Location of Driver:     \SCOUNIX\4.X\DRIVER.O
  11.    ------------------

  13.    The following files will be used in this installation:
  14.    ------------------------------------------------------

  16.       DRIVER.O    :  TE-16PnP Ethernet Card SCO Driver Program
  17.       SETUP       :  Transfer dos format to unix format setup program
  18.       DUMMY.O     :  Used by no netconfig utility
  19.       MKDEV       :  Used by no netconfig utility
  20.       INSTALL     :  Used by no netconfig utility
  21.       INSTALL.ID  :  Used by no netconfig utility
  22.       INSTALL.SCO :  Used by no netconfig utility
  23.       MAKE        :  Used by no netconfig utility
  24.       MACSTAT.H   :  Used by no netconfig utility

  27.    Installing driver procedure on SCO UNIX 3.X :
  28.    --------------------------------------------
  29.       Before you start with the installation  process,  make sure that the
  30.       SCO UNIX system is properly installed. Similarly, your adapter should
  31.       also be properly installed in your machine.
  32.  
  33.       1. Login as root user. (On maintenance mode)
  34.  
  35.       2. (a) If you own installation Diskette in UNIX format :
  36.  
  37.              # custom
  38.  
  39.              Select "Install".
  40.              Select "a New Product".
  41.              Select "entire" to install all of the packages.
  42.  
  43.          (b) If you own installation Diskette in DOS format :
  44.              Put RTL SCO UNIX Driver diskette to floppy A: and use doscp
  45.              command to copy the file "setup" for installing RTL SCO UNIX
  46.              PnP Driver into UNIX's directories as following :

  48.              # cd /
  49.              # doscp A:/sco/3.x/setup /setup
  50.  
  51.          !! if you don't have the directory ,namely, "a:/scounix/4.x/." in
  52.             the disk, you should modify contents of the setup file in
  53.             the floppy. Please check contents of the setup file.
  54.  
  55.              # chmod +x /setup
  56.              # ./setup
  57.  
  58.       4. Avaiable options :
  59.              # cd /pnp
  60.              # ./install
  61.  
  62.       5. After the above option completed, the screen display next option
  63.          messages :
  64.  
  65.          Select item (4) : sco_tcp   SCO TCP/IP for UNIX
  66.  
  67.       6. When the user completed  the  above option, then various adapter
  68.          drivers in SCO UNIX occur and select " RTL  PnP  Family Ethernet
  69.          Driver board 0" item.

  71.       7. Add chain sco_tcp -> pnp0 (y/n),   TYPE 'y'
  72.  
  73.       8. Enter the internet Address of this interface ,
  74.          for example : 192.9.9.1
  75.  
  76.       9. Enter the netmask for this interface (default 255.255.255.0).
  77.  
  78.       10. Does the interface use a broadcast address of all 1's (y/n),
  79.           default : y
  80.  
  81.       11. Enter the boardcast address for this interface,
  82.           default : xxx.xx.x.255             press ENTER
  83.  
  84.       12. Are these values correct ? (y/n)   TYPE 'y'
  85.  
  86.       13. Pseudo ttys are currently configured, do you want to:
  87.  
  88.              1) Add Pseudo ttys
  89.              2) Remove Pseudo ttys
  90.              Select an option or enter q to quit [q]   TYPE 'q'
  91.  
  92.       14. Available options:
  93.  
  94.              1) Add a chain
  95.              2) Remove a chain
  96.              3) Reconfigure a element in a chain
  97.              q. Quit
  98.  
  99.           Select option: q
  100.  
  101.       15. Do you want to relink to kernel now ?               y
  102.  
  103.       16. Do you want this kernel to boot by default (y/n)    y
  104.  
  105.       17. Do you want the kernel environment rebuilt (y/n)    y
  106.  
  107.       18. Reboot unix

  109.               # shutdown -g0
