  10. Note: Be sure to set your TE-16PnP Ethernet Adapter to "NE2000" operation mode
  11.       before using this adapter with RPL BOOT ROM.

  15. How to install the Novell RPL Server
  16. ------------------------------------

  18.   1. You must create a remote boot diskette. The files on this boot diskette,
  19.      for example, are the following:
  20.         COMMAND  COM
  21.         LSL      COM
  22.         PNPODI   COM
  23.         IPXODI   COM
  24.         NETX     EXE
  25.         AUTOEXEC BAT
  26.  
  27.      The AUTOEXEC.BAT file must contain these lines :
  28.            LSL
  29.            PNPODI
  30.            IPXODI
  31.            NETX
  32.  
  33.   2. Boot a workstation with at least one floppy disk drive, and log in to
  34.      the server as SUPERVISOR.
  35.  
  36.   3. Change directory to SYS:SYSTEM
  37.  
  38.   4. With the DOS boot diskette in driver A: execute the DOSGEN utility. This
  39.      creates a DOS boot image file named NET$DOS.SYS.
  40.  
  41.   5. Copy NET$DOS.SYS to the SYS:LOGIN directory.
  42.  
  43.   6. Copy RBOOT.RPL, ETHER.RPL to the SYS:LOGIN directory.
  44.  
  45.   7. Copy RPL.NLM to the SYS:SYSTEM directory.

  47.      Note: It depends on file server's version.

  49.            In the RPL developer's kit,
  50.  
  51.            for Netware 3.11,  use .\RPL\NLM\311\RPL.NLM;
  52.  
  53.            for Netware 3.12/4.x  use .\RPL\NLM\40\RPL.NLM;
  54.  
  55.   8. Edit the AUTOEXEC.NCF file in the SYS:SYSTEM directory.

  59.           file server name FTEST
  60.           ipx internal net 831123

  62.           load NE2000 port=300 int=3 name=ftest_1 frame=ETHERNET_802.2
  63.           load NE2000 port=300 int=3 name=ftest_2 frame=ETHERNET_II

  65.           load NE2000 port=300 int=3 name=ftest_4 frame=ETHERNET_Snap

  81.   9. Shutdown the file server, and reboot it.

  83.  10. Using EZCFG.EXE program to configure the TE-16PnP Ethernet Card to Boot ROM
  84.      Enable.

  86.  11. Reboot the workstation.

  88.  12. Now, when the file server is running, the workstation equipped with Boot
  89.      ROM on the TE-16PnP Ethernet Card will be attached to the file server without
  90.      any hard disk or floppy.
