  3.                How to install Sun PC-NFS 4.0 with W940ND.DOS
  4.              =================================================

  6. * Please follow the procedure below to setup Sun PC-NFS 4.0:
  7.  
  8.    1. Install Sun PC-NFS. When installation program asks for a network
  9.       driver, please select "Use a manufacturer's NDIS driver".
  10.    2. Follow the direction to finish the installation.
  11.    3. Insert QuickNDIS diskette of PC-NFS into drive A:
  12.    4. Type "QUIKNDIS" and press <Enter>
  13.    5. Input "0" to supply your own path
  14.    6. Insert Winbond Drivers diskette into drive A:
  15.    7. Input "A:\NDIS2\PCNFS" and press <Enter>
  16.    8. Follow the direction to finish the setup procedure.

  18. * Trouble Shooting
  19.  
  20.    1. Message: "!! No W89C940 card detected"
  21.         Solution: Make sure that your W89C940 card is plugged steadily.
  22.  
  23.    2. Message: "!! No free W89C940 card"
  24.         Solution: One driver for one card. Make sure that there is less
  25.         drivers loaded than card plugged. If option keyword SelectedID is
  26.         assigned, make sure that all node ID's assigned is correct or let
  27.         drivers without SelectedID be loaded after those with SelectedID.

  29.    3. Message: "!! Cannot open PROTMAN$"
  30.         Solution: Make sure that PROTMAN.DOS is loaded before W940ND.DOS,
  31.         and it is initialized successfully. If the syntax of PROTOCOL.INI
  32.         is incorrect, PROTMAN$ cannot be loaded.
  33.  
  34.    4. Message: "!! Bad Parameter in PROTOCOL.INI"
  35.         Solution: The parameter is invalid. For example, the correct
  36.         SelectedID format need two single quotation signs ('). If you fail
  37.         to do it, this message will be shown.
  38.  
  39.    5. Message: "!! Unknown Keyword in PROTOCOL.INI"
  40.         Solution: W940ND only accepts two keywords: DRIVERNAME and SELECTED.
  41.         Other keywords are unknown. Notice that, PCI bus need not assign
  42.         IOBASE and INTERRUPT.
  43.  
  44.    6. Message: "!! Specified SELECTEDID is absent or bound"
  45.         Solution: You specified a node ID at keyword SelectedID, and this ID
  46.         is bound by another drivers or can not be found. Make sure that the
  47.         ID is correct.
