  7. This animation depicts a segment of DNA spinning inside a lead crystal bell
  8. jar, and was created using POV-Ray v2.0 running on my Silicon Graphics
  9. R4000 Crimson Elan.  Each frame took approximately 1hour 15 minutes to render,
  10. for a total rendering time of 40 hours or so.

  12. The resulting frames were downloaded to my A4000 and converted to IFF8
  13. format using Art Department Professional, and then converted to 'diff'
  14. format using Magic Lantern.
  15.  
  16. NOTE WELL: 
  17. This animation (dna_spin_picasso.diff) will only run on machines equipped
  18. with the Picasso II RTG board!
  19.  
  20. Running the animation:
  21.  
  22. If you have > 4MB simply double click the dna_spin_picasso.diff icon. This
  23. should launch the player and play the animation from memory.  If you have
  24. less memory, change the 'default tool type' in the animation to PlayDiffHD,
  25. and double click as before.  This will play the animation while buffering
  26. from the hard disk.

  28. To stop the animation, hit the space bar. Enjoy!
