including virus checkers running in the
background, before running Setup. Setup installs
system files that may be shared with other
programs.
Setup will install Internet Explorer and Outlook
Express
You must have Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or
later and Outlook Express 5.0 or later installed
on your machine to run this program
successfully. Setup will install Internet
Explorer 5.5 and Outlook Express 5.0 if you do
not have them on your computer.
Uninstall beta versions of Internet Explorer 5.5
Internet Explorer 5.5 Setup does not uninstall
pre-release versions (e.g., Beta) of Internet
Explorer 5.5. In order to complete Setup of this
program correctly, please uninstall any Beta
versions of internet Explorer before installing
this program.
Check proxy settings if installing from a network
If you are installing this program from a
network onto a computer with Windows NT 4.0,
make sure the proxy settings for Internet
Explorer are correctly set before starting Setup
of this program. When Internet Explorer 5.5
Setup is started, it will prompt for a source
site location if the proxy settings are
incorrect.
Choose the appropriate Setup options
You have three choices when installing this
program:
1. Typical Installation (Recommended) - Choose
this option for quick and easy browsing of
clips, photos, and templates. Recommended
for most users.
2. Minimum Installation - Choose this option
if you have limited space available on your
hard drive.
3. Custom Installation - Choose this option to
customize your installation by putting
content on your hard drive. Installing
clips or templates to your hard drive will
reduce CD swapping.
* Template files will be installed on the
drive you install this program on.
* Clips and Photographs will be installed
on the drive that contains the Windows
folder and the Common Files.
Free hard disk space on your computer
If Setup indicates that your drive doesn't have
enough room, you can make room on this drive by
deleting files or choose another drive. Setup
installs most content to the drive the Windows
folder and Common Files folder are on. Choosing
Minimum Installation may solve the problem.
Register your product online
Online registration requires that your computer
have a correctly installed modem. See your
Windows documentation on checking for and
installing a modem on your computer. If the
online registration for this program does not
work, you can try again by starting this
program, clicking About Microsoft Picture It!
2001 on the Help menu, and then clicking
Registration.

Log on as administrator on Windows NT 4.0 SP4 or
later. This program will not install correctly
on a Windows NT system when you are logged on as
a user without administrative privileges. To
ensure correct installation, log on as an
administrator before running Setup.
Reinstall this program if you remove Microsoft
Office 95 or later
Removing Office 95 or later will remove some
shared components that this program requires. If
you uninstall Office 95 or later, be sure to
remove and then reinstall this program before
using it again.
Turn off virus checkers
Some virus checking programs will not allow this
program to be properly installed. If you
encounter problems during installation, it might
be necessary to first turn off the
virus-checking program. To turn off a
virus-checking program perform one of the
following procedures:
* If an icon appears on the right end or
bottom of your Microsoft Windows operating
system Taskbar, right-click the icon and
choose a command to turn it off (command
names vary, but may include Close, Exit, and
Suspend).
* If no icon appears on your Microsoft Windows
Taskbar, hold down the following keys at
once: CTRL+ALT+DELETE. You will see a list
of all the programs that are running. Select
the virus-checking program, and click End
Task.
Turn off HP OfficeJet devices
If you have Hewlett-Packard OfficeJet devices
installed on your system, you might have trouble
installing this program. Usually, turning off
the OfficeJet software before installing solves
this problem. To turn off the OfficeJet
software:
* On the Microsoft Windows operating system
Taskbar, right-click the OfficeJet Software
icon, then click Close OfficeJet Software.
2. Upgrading
Upgrading from earlier versions of Home
Publishing, Greetings, or Picture It!
If you have an older version of Home Publishing,
Greetings, or Picture It! installed on your
computer, Setup will detect this and ask if you
want to upgrade to the newer version or let the
two versions co-exist.
Setup will recommend co-existence when there is
some benefit to having the older program
installed, such as access to different content.
If there is no benefit to having both programs
installed, Setup will recommend that you choose
Upgrade.
3. Graphics and layout tips
Choose small fonts instead of large fonts for
on-screen display
The templates in this program have been designed
to look best with the small fonts display
setting. Using the large fonts display setting
may change how text and graphics appear in
relation to each other. As a rule, use small
fonts for optimal appearance. Or, reformat the
text in the templates to look good with large
fonts.
Set a default printer to avoid graphics and layout
problems
If you do not have a default printer selected,
you may encounter problems with graphics and
layouts. To add a new printer, click the Windows
Start menu, point to Settings, and then click
Printers. Double-click Add Printers and follow
the on-screen instructions.
Note playback differences between Internet
Explorer and Netscape Navigator
When playing back your e-mail or Web projects,
you may see differences between how Internet
Explorer plays back a project and how Netscape
Navigator handles it.
Use specific techniques to scale line thickness as
you resize rotated shapes
Resizing a rotated shape using the mouse to drag
the Resize handle inward may cause the shape
border to thicken. To avoid this problem, resize
your object by holding down the SHIFT key while
dragging the corner Resize handle.
4. Video cards and display problems
Set your monitor to display at least 256 colors
This program requires you to set your display to
256 colors (minimum) to run. If you have a VGA
card running in 16-color mode, you may be able
to change it to a higher color mode, such as 256
colors with a resolution of 800x600. If your
video driver supports it, you may even want to
set your display to 16-bit or 24-bit color for
optimal on-screen display of the color templates
and other content. Please see your Windows
documentation for instructions on setting your
display to a higher color mode.
Troubleshooting
If you are having display problems, try the
following:
* Close down other programs to ensure there is
enough memory.
* Switch to the Super-VGA driver supplied by
Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0, or later.
* Obtain updated drivers from your video card
manufacturer. Most problems can be fixed by
obtaining new drivers. Contact the
manufacturer of your video card to determine
if there are newer versions
available. The phone number should be in the
manuals that came with the video card or
with your personal computer.
* Change to a different display mode. An
alternative to using a different driver is
to change your video mode to a standard
video mode, such as 800x600 resolution with
256 colors.
Problems when selecting anything when previewing,
changing effects, or changing the page background
in e-mail and Web projects
When you preview, change effects, or change the
page background in an e-mail or Web project that
contains many animated .gifs and you have an ATI
Rage PRO or Matrox display driver, the Preview,
Change Effects, or Page Background dialog boxes
may disappear and you will be unable to select
anything. Hold down the ALT key and press the
TAB key until the Preview, Change Effects, or
Page Background dialog box is visible, and then
release the ALT key. You will then be able to
interact with the dialog box.
5. CD-ROM problems
Always keep a CD from this program in your CD-ROM
drive when running the program
To access the designs and other content for your
projects, you must keep a CD from this program
in the CD-ROM drive while running the program.
The program will tell you if you need to switch
this program's CDs to locate different content.
Verify that the CD-ROM drive is working
If you encounter a CD problem, first make sure
that the CD-ROM drive is working. Insert a
different CD that you have used before in the
drive and make sure that it works. If other CDs
also do not work in your CD-ROM drive, then try
the following:
* Check for conflicts with your CD-ROM by
right-clicking the My Computer icon on the
Windows desktop, and clicking Properties. In
the System Properties dialog box, click the
Device Manager tab and look for the CD-ROM
in the list. If it appears with an
exclamation point to the right of it, there
is a conflict with the hardware setup. You
should check the manuals that came with the
CD-ROM drive for information on setting it
up correctly.
* If you still see an error message after
checking the points above, check the manuals
that came with the CD-ROM drive for
information on how to set up the drive, or
contact the company that supplied the CD-ROM
drive.
Verify that the CD is working
If your CD-ROM drive works, check the following:
* Make sure that this program's CD is
correctly inserted into the CD-ROM drive.
* Ensure that the CD is free of dust or marks.
Clean the CD with a dry cloth.
* Try the CD in a different computer's CD-ROM
drive.
* Make sure all the files on this program's CD
are visible in Windows Explorer by doing the
following:
1. Insert this program's CD.
2. Click the Start menu, point to
programs, and then click Windows
Explorer.
3. Click the plus symbol (+) next to the
CD-ROM drive containing this program's
CD. It will be listed with a label
similar to "PIP_CD1" or "PIP_DES".
4. Locate the file named autorun.exe
If you cannot see this file on this
program's CD, you may be using an
earlier version of the CD-ROM driver.
Contact the CD-ROM drive manufacturer
for an updated driver. If you can see
this file on this program's CD, try
to copy this file from the CD to a
location on your hard drive. If the
file does not copy successfully, you
may be using an earlier version of the
CD-ROM driver. Contact the CD-ROM drive
manufacturer for an updated driver.
6. Error starting program
Reinstall the program
If you get a "Missing File" error message after
you start this program, or if you get an error
message that says, "The application could not be
initialized. The session has been terminated,"
you will need to reinstall this program.
7. Program quits unexpectedly when used with
Microsoft Camcorder program
Possible conflict with Microsoft Camcorder
This program may quit unexpectedly when used
with the Microsoft Camcorder program included
with Office 97.
8. Audio problems
Sound does not play at all
If the volume is turned up and you do not hear
sound, something may be wrong with your audio
card installation. Check to see that the audio
card drivers are installed correctly and
reinstall them if necessary. You can do this by
running Media Player from the Accessories group
and playing a .wav file (click the Start menu,
point to Programs, and then click Accessories).
You should also try to play a .mid (midi) file.
Troubleshooting
In addition, check the following:
* Are the speakers plugged into the computer
and connected to the batteries or to the
power outlet?
* Check the volume control on the speaker
itself.
* Check the volume control in Windows by
clicking the speaker icon on the Windows
taskbar.
* Do you hear sounds in other programs? If
not, make sure you have a properly installed
sound card by checking the sound card manual
or by contacting the sound card manufacturer
for help.
Find out if you have a sound card
Check your computer to make sure that a sound
card in installed.
1. Right-click the My Computer icon, and click
Properties.
2. Click the Device Manager tab. If you have a
sound card, it will appear in the Device
Manager list. If you do not have one, it
will not be listed.
You get a "Sound is not available on your machine"
message
Check for Audio Compression.
1. Click the Start menu, point to Settings,
and then click Control Panel. Double-click
Add/Remove Programs.
2. Click the Windows Setup tab, and click
Multimedia.
3. Click Details, and check whether Audio
Compression is selected. If it is not
selected, click it, and then click OK.
Sound plays but is distorted or "fuzzy"
Playing sounds at a higher volume than your
speakers can handle often causes sound
distortion. You can adjust the volume in one of
two ways:
* Turn down the volume dial on the back of the
sound card (in the rear of the computer
where the speakers plug in).
* Change the volume control in Windows by
clicking the speaker icon on the Windows
taskbar and adjusting the controls.
Sounds are cut off
Most sound cards play one sound at a time;
therefore, other sound-producing programs could interrupt the sounds from this program. If you
suspect you have such a program, do not run it
at the same time as this program.
Sound files only play one at a time
If you set up multiple sound files to play
simultaneously in an e-mail or Web project, only
the file you inserted first will play.
Sound (.wav) files do not play in Netscape
Navigator
If you create an HTML page with a .wav file and
then open it in Netscape Navigator 4.05 Standard
Edition, the sound will not play back. (The
Standard Edition does not include the necessary
Sound Player Java applet.) To play back a sound,
you must use Netscape Navigator 4.05
Professional Edition or later.
Sound (MIDI) does not stop playing at end of
scene, or plays on wrong scenes
You may find MIDI sound files playing out of
sequence or starting and stopping at incorrect
times. You may experience better results by
saving your file as MHTML.
9. Printing problems
Printer variations
Printers differ in their ability to print fonts,
colors, graphics, and various text attributes,
such as spacing, alignment, and character
formats. Therefore, the appearance of your
printed project may vary from printer to
printer. If you encounter problems while
printing from this program, such as no printout,
low print quality, or missing text, there are
several ways to troubleshoot the problem.
Check the printer
If the printer displays a message or an error
indicator, see the printer manual for
information on how to correct the problem.
The printer does not print at all
When a printer does not print at all, the cause
is often mechanical:
* Check that the printer is plugged in and
turned on.
* Check that the correct port is specified
for the printer. Most printers are connected
to the LPT1 port on a computer.
* Make sure that you have the correct cable
for your printer and that the cable is
connected properly.
* Try printing from another program, such as
Microsoft Word. If you are not able to
print, and the printer is turned on and
correctly connected, see the printer manual
for further assistance. If you are able to
print with another program, then the problem
may be specific to this program.
* Check to ensure that you are using the
correct printer driver. For more details,
see the documentation that came with the
printer or contact the printer manufacturer.
* Check the printer setup.
1. Click the Windows Start menu, point to
Settings, and then click Printers.
2. Verify the printer information
displayed.
3. Click the General tab and try printing a
test page.
4. Click the Details tab and verify port
and driver settings.
Graphics could be clipped or may not print on some
printers
Some printer drivers have difficulty printing
some graphics. An updated printer driver often
corrects the problem. Contact the printer
manufacturer to obtain the latest printer
drivers for your printer.
Graphics clipped with a Canon printer
Canon printers may 'clip' graphics (part of the
graphic does not print). If you are using a
Canon printer, using the latest printer driver
may help correct the problem.
Change printer settings if graphics are clipped
If you have a problem with graphics getting
clipped (only printing partially), or if the
spooler crashes when you try to print, try
changing the settings of your printer by doing
the following:
1. Click the Start menu, then point to
Settings, and then click Printers.
2. Right-click the printer icon you want, and
click Properties.
3. Click the Details tab. Then click the
Spool Settings button near the bottom of
the dialog box.
4. Select RAW from the Spool data format
list.
5. Click OK, and then click OK again to close
the Properties dialog box.
6. Restart your computer.
7. Start this program, and print your project
again.
This change reduces the chance of a spooler
crash. If you encounter this crash even after
making these changes, switch off your computer
and start the computer again. Doing so should
further reduce the chance of a spooler crash.
Light-colored text, lines, and shapes might not
print with some printers
Some printers print light-colored text, lines,
and shapes as white, thus causing the objects to
"disappear." If this happens, try using a darker
color in your project and print again.
Printed image quality is poor
Some printers may be set to print at a quality,
or mode, that is not well suited for
photographs. To adjust the print quality:
1. In the File menu, click Print.
2. When the Print task comes up you will see
an option to Change Printer Settings; click
this button.
3. Look for a setting for either the print
mode or the print quality and make sure
that it is not set to Text or Draft-some
printers may default to this selection. A
better setting to use would be Photo, or
Graphic if Photo is not offered.
Canon BJC 6000 printer
The Canon BJC 6000 defaults to Text mode, we
recommend that you change this to Photo or
SuperPhoto before printing.
Printer not printing at all or printing poor
quality images
All printers have special software, called
drivers, that translate the information between
your computer and your printer. For best
results, make sure that you have the most
current drivers for your printer. Also be
sure that the printer drivers are designed
specifically for your operating system. The most
current printer drivers can be downloaded from
the printer manufacturer's Web site.
Borders might be clipped with some printers
This program will alert you about a border (or
any other item) that is in the unprintable area
of the paper. However, some printer drivers
provide misinformation about the printer's
unprintable region. As a result, portions
of the border may not print correctly, or at
all. If you encounter this problem, reduce the
border's size and print again.
Transparent graphics do not print correctly on HP
DeskJet 600 and 900 series printers
You may experience problems printing transparent
.gif images on HP DeskJet 600 and 900 series
printers. The problems may include dark
horizontal streaks in the graphic, unusual
patterns, and sections of image printing blank.
To remedy this problem, update to the latest
printer driver for your printer. The supported
driver versions are:
* 680 series: version 9.02 or later
* 690 series: version 9.03 or later
* 970 series: version 2.0 beta or later
HP DeskJet 660C printers do not print rotated text
correctly
This problem occurs specifically with the
version 7.0 printer driver. If you are using an
HP DeskJet 660C printer, you must have the
latest printer driver from Hewlett Packard to
correctly print projects containing rotated
text.
A one-pixel gap appears between the border and the
background
This program paints any borders in your project
after painting the background, leaving a
one-pixel gap between the interior edge of the
border and the outer edge of the background.
With most projects, this gap is not noticeable.
If this gap is noticeable, you can reduce the
visual effect of the gap by selecting
backgrounds and borders that are similar in
color.
A gap may appear when printing a three-page
landscape banner with a Shaped Text item on Epson
Stylus 400 printers
If you create a three-page landscape banner with
a Shaped Text item spanning all the pages and
then print your project on an Epson Stylus 400
printer using Printer Driver version 2.22, you
may see a small gap at the beginning of page two
and three. As a result, the end of page two
prints on an extra sheet. To resolve this
problem, use Partial Printing to print pages two
and three individually.
Rotated text and graphics may be clipped on some
dot matrix printers
Some older dot matrix printers with non-square
pixels (e.g. Epson FX-80, Panasonic KX-P2180)
will cause printing and display problems with
rotated text and graphics. Text may be clipped
by the frame edges. Pictures may be clipped or
significantly reduced in size. If you can change
your printer's resolution to a square pixel
resolution, this should fix the printing and
display problems.
Printer not printing flipped images for a T-shirt
transfer
In some cases, a printer is able to print a
normal image but not a flipped image for a
T-shirt transfer. To correct the problem, make
sure that you have the most current drivers for
your printer and that the printer drivers are
designed specifically for your operating system.
The most current printer drivers can be
downloaded from the printer manufacturer's Web
site.
Some graphics may not print on Epson Stylus Color
ESC/P2 printers
Some image formats (e.g., .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, and
.pcx) may not print properly on Epson Stylus
Color ESC/P2 printers, especially if they are
rotated or flipped. If this happens, try
converting the images to another format, such as
.wmf, and reinserting them in your project.
White text on a black background may not print as
expected
If you are printing white text on an object with
a black background to a PCL printer in Vector
Graphics mode, the text may not appear in your
printout. If this problem occurs, try switching
to Raster Graphics mode in your printer's
Properties dialog box, or change your
background or text to a different color.
Colors may dither when printing to Lexmark 5700
and 7000 printers from Windows 95 and Windows 98
If you are using a Lexmark 5700 or 7000 printer,
and you are using printer driver 1.0.1.3, you
may get discoloring around text boxes in some
projects. To resolve this problem, download the
latest drivers for your printer from the Lexmark
Web site (http://www.lexmark.com).
Kodak paper size EK-PH-007
When printing multiple pictures with the
template for Kodak paper size EK-PH-007, some
printer models will not format the pictures
properly on the page. If you are not satisfied
with the printing results with this template
and your printer, try another paper size and
template.
10. Saving your projects to a floppy disk
Use a disk with sufficient space available
If you intend to save your project to a floppy
disk, make sure that there is sufficient space
available on it. If this program does not allow
you to save your project to a floppy disk,
locate another one with more available space.
Keep the floppy disk in the drive
Once you have saved your project onto a floppy
disk, do not remove the floppy disk from the
disk drive until after you have quit this
program, opened a different project, or saved
the project onto your hard disk.
11. Internet and e-mail issues
If you have difficulty connect to the Picture It!
Web site
You may be experiencing network connectivity
problems. If you experience such problems,
continue trying to connect. If you are able to
connect to other sites, try connecting to the
Picture It! Web site again at a later time.
Use the Modem Troubleshooter
If you encounter problems connecting to the
Picture It! Web site using a modem, try using
the Modem Troubleshooter in Windows online Help.
It provides step-by-step instructions about how
to solve modem problems.
Recipient can't view greeting sent by e-mail or on
floppy disk
Try viewing the greeting yourself before you
send it to others. If you continue to have
problems, try repackaging it by opening up your
saved greeting or project and clicking Send on
the toolbar.
Sounds don't play or pictures don't show when
previewing an e-mail or Web project
If you have turned off sounds, animations, or
pictures in the Internet Properties dialog box,
then you will not be able to see or hear them
when you preview an e-mail or Web page project.
To turn these back on:
1. Right-click the Internet Explorer icon on
the Windows Desktop and click Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab and scroll down to
the Multimedia section.
3. Make sure that the Play Sounds, Play
Animations, and Show Pictures boxes are
selected, and then click OK.
Problem with AOL 4.0 Client
If you have installed AOL 4.0 Client that was
included with Windows 98, you may encounter
problems running it after you install this
program. For details about how to handle this
issue, visit the AOL Web site or contact AOL
technical support.
Position pointer completely over the buttons
When you view an e-mail greeting in Netscape
Navigator and click the Replay, Pause, Back,
Forward, or About buttons, the buttons may not
always respond. The Replay, Pause, Back,
Forward, or About buttons are fully functional,
however, you may have to position the pointer
completely over the buttons in order to make
them respond to your click.
Problem viewing e-mail or Web projects on
Macintosh Web browsers
E-mail or Web projects that contain multiple
pages and a navigation bar may not display
correctly on Macintosh versions of Web browsers.
Problems publishing to Geocities
If you created your Geocities account before
June 25th, 1999, you may not be able to log on
to Geocities from this program. You must first
go to the Geocities Web site and update your
logon information.
12. Microsoft Product Support Services files
The Microsoft Product Support Services team has
provided additional information and tools to help
you resolve problems that you might encounter with
this program. This information is contained in the
PIP2001 folder on your setup CD. You will likely

13. Hardware problems
WIA compliant scanners
WIA compliant scanners can have compatibility
issues with TWAIN drivers and Windows Millennium
Edition (Me). If your scanner is WIA compliant,
be sure to scan using WIA drivers and not TWAIN
drivers. You can tell that both WIA and TWAIN
scanner drivers have been installed on your
computer if you see that the scanner is listed
twice in the drop-down list box of the Scan
task. If you experience difficulty scanning, try
selecting the other listing of the scanner from
the list box.
Differentiating between cameras and scanners
In some cases, this program will not be able to
distinguish between camera software and scanner
software that you have installed on your
computer. If you are no longer using one of
these cameras or scanners, you can uninstall the
software associated with that device.
Epson PhotoPC 800 camera
The Epson PhotoPC 800 camera does not support
the Automatic Download feature. To transfer
pictures from an Epson PhotoPC 800 to your
computer, use the software provided with the
camera. Once the pictures are saved on your
computer, you can open the pictures with this
program.
Kodak DC240 Zoom camera
The Kodak DC240 Zoom camera does not support the
Automatic Download feature. To transfer pictures
from an Kodak DC240 Zoom to your computer, use
the software provided with the camera. Once the
pictures are saved on your computer, you can
open the pictures with this program.
Microtek ScanMaker X6 scanner
The Microtek ScanMaker X6 scanner has
compatibility problems with Windows Millennium
Edition (Me). If a computer is running Windows
Me, it will not support a Microtek ScanMaker X6
scanner connected by a parallel (EPP) port.
Check the scanner manufacturer's Web site to see
if updated drivers are available that will make
this scanner compatible with Windows Me.
HP DeskJet 600 Series printers
For all image types from this program to print
properly, HP DeskJet 600 Series printers require
updated drivers. The drivers may be downloaded
from the printer manufacturer's Web site.
Casio QV-7000SX camera
The Casio QV-7000SX camera has compatibility
with this program. If you have trouble
downloading pictures from this camera, contact
the manufacturer for updated TWAIN drivers.
HP DeskJet 340 printer
The HP DeskJet 340 printer will not be able to
print some envelope types if the computer is
running Windows 2000. Although standard #10
(9.5-inch by 4.35-inch) envelopes and
quarter-fold (5.75-inch by 4.5-inch) envelopes
will not print properly, the printer will
successfully print half-fold (8.75-inch by
5.75-inch) envelopes.
Visioneer OneTouch 5300 USB scanner
The Visioneer OneTouch 5300 USB scanner has some
compatibility issues with computers running
Windows Millennium Edition (Me). If you are
using the scanner software, it is necessary to
always click the Preview button before clicking
the Scan button. The scanner manufacturer may
offer updated drivers for this scanner on
their Web site; these drivers may eliminate the
need to always preview before scanning.
Epson Stylus 440 printer
If your computer is running Windows 2000, you

14(a). Printing tips
E-mail and Web projects
You cannot print e-mail or Web projects. E-mail
or Web projects should be sent through e-mail,
sent as an executable on a floppy disk, or
published to a Web site.
Let this program show you how to print double-
sided
This program demonstrates how to print on both
sides of the paper, even if your printer does
not support duplex printing. The instructions
for double-sided printing vary depending on the
project type and type of printer. Be sure to
follow the instructions carefully each time you
print a double-sided project.
The animation showing the process of printing on
both sides of the paper displays a graphic at
the top of the diagram: this represents the
front page of your project. Always follow the
animation to get the optimal printed results.
You may have to run a print test if this program
is not familiar with your printer. Once you have
followed all of the instructions, this program
will know which set of double-sided printing
instructions to show you. If you follow the
instructions and get incorrect results, click
the Fix Printing Problems button displayed at
the end of printing each project. Then click the
Printing Test button. This will start the print
test again so that this program can update the
information it has about your printer and to
show you the correct double-sided printing
instructions.
Note: If this program did not ask you to run a
print test the first time it showed you
instructions on double-sided or label
printing, then you will not see the Printing
Test option if you click Fix Printing
Problems.
Use the right kind of labels to print on a laser
printer
Before you print labels using a laser printer,
be sure to check that the labels are designed
for laser printers. Using non-laser printable
labels in a laser printer may cause damage to
the printer. Please read your laser printer's
documentation on label printing carefully. Be
certain that you do not feed the same sheet of
label paper into a laser printer more than once
or you may void your printer's warranty.
Use Raster Graphics setting for better printing on
laser printers
Printers using HP PCL language will print
graphics better if you set the printer to
"raster graphics mode." To set the Raster
Graphics mode, on the Start menu, point to
Settings, then click Printers. Right click the
printer icon and then select Properties. Look
through the dialog box to get to the tab for
setting Raster Graphics mode.

15(c). Installing onto a network or installing
everything to your hard disk
This program can easily be installed on a network.
To install it, copy the contents of all the CDs
to the same network folder. Do NOT put the
contents of the individual CDs into separate
folders; keep them in the same folder. Some
files are duplicated on all multiple CDs. When
you are asked to overwrite these files, click
Yes. This program should be installed onto
computers using Setup.exe on this network share,
not from the CDs.
15(d). Mail merge problems
Unexpected Insert Field mail merge dialog box
If you begin a mail merge with a project, and
then close the project without saving the mail
merge, you may get an unexpected Insert Field
dialog box next time you open the project. To
turn off the Insert Field dialog box:
* On the menu bar, click Mail Merge, and then
click Cancel Merge.
Mail Merge fields do not print completely
If the mail merge fields within a text box are
not printing completely, it may be because the
text box is not large enough to accommodate the
merged-in entries. Make the text box large
enough to fit the longest mail merge entries you
wish to print, and try printing your project
again.
15(e). Duplication of holiday data
Duplication of holiday data
