(Fallen For) The Vibe by Liam the lemming 25/6/94 I was really pleased when I wrote this module - so pleased that I wrote a lyric for it... --------------------------- I'm sitting here trying to compose a song that I can sing to you But the notes aren't coming through I'm trying hard to write some words that I can put into a song But it always comes out wrong I try to concentrate and figure out a way to hit the drums But the rhythm never comes I rack my brains to make a rhyme that won't sound corny or inane And it's driving me insane It's only music, after all So why does it have such a strong effect on me? It lifts me high and lets me fall And yet it finds so much respect from me The love I feel for you is strong But the only time my feelings come alive Is when I'm writing you a song Could it really be I've fallen for the vibe? My music lifts me up and carries me across a land of dreams Or at least that's how it seems It works its miracle of happiness upon my furrowed brow Maybe someday I'll know how There's something mystical about the way it lifts my spirits high Until I feel like I could fly The strange effect it has on me, the way it takes away my pain It's just not possible to explain It's only music, after all... I sit around not doing much, just listening to a new CD And it makes me feel so free But then I think of you and suddenly my freedom starts to wilt As I am overcome with guilt I try to think of ways to show you that I'm still in love with you Then an idea comes through I find a writing pad, a fountain pen, and then before too long I start writing you a song. --------------------------- It's all about someone who falls in love with the music he writes. Yep, it's autobiographical. Sad, I know, but people have fallen for stranger things than music before. The worst thing is, just as I perfected this song, my voice started breaking up (twice in one lifetime?!!) and my range went bye-byes. Someday soon though, I'll sing this song again.......
