  9. Velvet Studio is from version 2.0 and on a shareware product ONLY. This
  10. means that no more PRO versions will be sold. However, we have a few
  11. printed manuals left that we will seel quite cheap. Contact us for more
  12. information, or visit our homepage to keep updated.

  14. We also noticed, just before this release, that all information about the
  15. sample editor and the effect editor had been left out of the help file. And
  16. amazingly no one has pointed this out to us! We will release an updated
  17. helpfile as soon as we have it updated though.

  20. ░▒▓ Command line switches ▓▒░
  21.  
  22. Velvet Studio now supports command line input. There is currently only one
  23. option that can be toggled from the command line, but it could be useful.

  25. Switches:

  27.  -f  Forces VS to skip autodetection routines and whatever soundcard
  28.      information there is in the config file. Instead you will be able to
  29.      configure the soundcard immediately when you enter the program. Use
  30.      this if VS locks due to faulty soundcard detection or configuration,
  31.      maybe because you changed soundcards. Instead of removing the entire
  32.      config file you can now keep our old settings and just reconfigure the
  33.      soundcard.

  36. ░▒▓ MIDI Input ▓▒░
  37.  
  38. MIDI input is now supported, but for Gravis Ultrasound MIDI interface only.
  39. MPU-401 support will be implemented as soon as the programmers get the
  40. device in their hands.
  41.   Also, more MIDI features are planned in the future. Look at this version
  42. as just a little preview of the MIDI support (doesn't filter channels, no
  43. program change support etc etc).

  46. ░▒▓ Known Bugs ▓▒░
  47.  
  48.  * If you have an Apricot Xen-PCm you might have problems with the mouse.
  49.    Any ideas why?
  50.  
  51.  * If you encounter that the Echo Editor gives garbage results sometimes,
  52.    increase the number of commands on the specific pattern by one. The
  53.    autoresize function is a bit buggy.
  54.  
  55.  * The DOS Shell function works well on most systems, but on some it
  56.    freezes the computer. If your computer locks, try pressing CTRL+BREAK.
  57.    This helps in some cases.
  58.  
  59.  * The CD-ROM routines might be a bit buggy on some computers. We have
  60.    discovered that SCSI CD-ROMS may hang the computer if accessed.
  61.    The EJECT button in the sample editor don't work very well.
  62.  
  63.  * Using Microsoft Mouse Driver might not work on some computers. Please
  64.    try another mouse driver. We've got no solution to this problem.

  66.  * GUS PnP soundcard is not yet implemented. However, running it as a
  67.    normal GUS Classic should work without problems, except for sample
  68.    recording (will probably crash). Support will come shortly.
