  1. In this file, we put any and all ideas for things that would improve our
  2. service to users or help us maintain the archives. Comments and ideas on
  3. these issues should be sent to info-mac-request@sumex-aim.stanford.edu.

  6. 1. One of the biggest problems with the archive is lack of disk space.
  7. Currently at 200Mb, our quota forces us to remove old files whenever a
  8. new file is archived. Although the archive will always expand to exceed
  9. the available space, a larger quota would allow us to maintain a better
  10. ratio of input bandwidth to archive size. I have toyed with the idea of
  11. setting up a system where we could accept contributions to be used to
  12. support Info-Mac in this and other ways. If you have any ideas about how
  13. to do this, or better yet large sparc-compatible optical drives sitting
  14. around that you would like to donate, let me know!

  16. 2. Someday I'd like to move the archive to a Macintosh-based system, or
  17. make it mountable through the Chooser. This is probably a long way off.
  18. Or make a dial-in service available to those who don't have net access.

  20. 3. The archive directory organization is not ideal. I am working with
  21. Liam Breck and my colleagues here to come up with a better system. Your
  22. ideas and feedback are appreciated.
