  4.                  GraphicsENGINE  Windows 3.1 driver
  5.  
  6. Installation:
  7. 1) Insert the GraphicsENGINE  Driver diskette into drive A.
  8.  
  9. 2) Run the installation file INSTALL.EXE on drive A.
  10.        Example:  C:\>a:\install
  11.  
  12.    Then select INSTALL's Microsoft Windows 3.1 menu,
  13.    press ENTER key and complete the installation.
  14.    INSTALL will copy the appropriate files to your default directory.
  15.  
  16. 3) Run Setup program when prompted, selecting  option to change the
  17.    DISPLAY device and following the  instructions to complete the
  18.    driver installation.

  20. Hardware Requirements:
  21.  * IBM-PC compatible or better CPU.
  22.  * GraphicsENGINE  board.
  23.  
  24. Resolution:
  25.  Currently the following modes are supported:
  26.  *  640 x 480, 256 colors
  27.  *  640 x 480, 64K colors
  28.  *  640 x 480, 16.7M colors
  29.  *  800 x 600, 16 or 256 colors
  30.  *  800 x 600, 64K colors
  31.  * 1024 x 768, 16 or 256 colors
  32.  * 1024 x 768, 64K colors
  33.  * 1280 x 1024, 16 or 256 colors
  34.  
  35. NOTE:
  36. If you have already installed a previous version of the driver, copy
  37. the file ERASEOLD.BAT into the \windows directory and execute it.
  38. Follow this by typing SETUP and reinstall the driver.
  39.  
  40. Not all modes are supported by all monitors. Attempting to use modes
  41. which yourmonitor does not support will produce unsatisfactory results.
  42.  
  43. The GraphicsENGINE  board is capable of generating more 
  44. frequencies and supporting more modes than most VGA cards.
  45. To switch to a different mode, you can either use SW1.EXE (Software
  46. Switch utility on utility floppy) or SW1. (Hardware Switch on board)
  47.  
  48. Driver Limitations:
  49. 1. No pen support at this time.
  50. 2. No SWC resolutions at this time.
  51. 3. 1280x1024 Non-Interlaced mode may display color and fading problems.
  52. 4. VDD limitation of DOSShell colors will change after Alt-Tab to
  53.    Windows and back. This only occures in 4-planes.
