  31.    What's New in Release 3.01

  33.    1) The Windows drivers have been updated to fix an AGX-016
  34.       timing related problem. This is done to improve the yield
  35.       of the Graphite products.
  36.  
  37.    2) New release (1.2) of NT drivers. This release includes
  38.       bug fixes and one new resolution mode (1280x1024x8 72Hz).
  39.  
  40.    3) README.TXT and OEMSETUP.INF files in the Windows NT
  41.       subdirectory have been updated.

  81.    Installation of the Hercules DL-Xpress driver is very
  82.    straightforward with a menu driven utility, and can be
  83.    accomplished without printed documentation.  A full manual
  84.    for the Vibrant driver is available for an additional charge.

  86.    Hercules along with a request fot the DL-Xpress manual.

  92.    AutoCAD -- Known Limitations
  93.    ----------------------------
  94.    Dual-screen support (monochrome monitor used for text console) 
  95.    for AutoCAD is not available on all Graphite models.

  99.    SPEEDY: Windows Performance Benchmark Test
  100.    ------------------------------------------
  101.    SPEEDY, a Windows performance benchmark test, is included
  102.    with this Hercules product.  This test is designed to perform
  103.    a standard set of Windows graphics functions and compute a
  104.    performance metric called a "SPEEDMARK." A higher "SPEEDMARK"
  105.    indicates better performance.  This test can also be used to
  106.    measure performance of any display adapter that supports
  107.    Windows.

  109.    SPEEDY is available in the Hercules program group. Double-
  110.    click on the Speedy icon to launch the SPEEDY program.  Press
  111.    F2 to initiate an "Auto Run" test, F10 to exit the program,
  112.    and F1 to view the on-line documentation.

  116.    Windows -- Known Limitations
  117.    ----------------------------
  118.    1) Debugger Configurations:
  119.  
  120.       Graphite models for the ISA-bus do not support the use
  121.       of a debugger such as CodeView or TDW, running on an 8-bit
  122.       monochrome card under Windows. This is due to a limitation
  123.       of the AGX chip when running on the ISA bus. All other
  124.       models do not have this limitation.

  126.    2) Running DOS Graphics Applications in a Window:
  127.  
  128.       It is not possible to run most VGA graphics applications
  129.       in a windowed DOS session.  Instead, run your VGA
  130.       graphics application full screen.
  131.  
  132.    3) Using Windows' VGA driver:
  133.  
  134.       If you want to use Windows' VGA driver, you must select
  135.       "VGA (Version 3.0)" driver from the list of display driver
  136.       in Windows' SETUP. Do not select the "VGA" driver.
  137.       In general, we recommend you to use Graphite's 640x480x8
  138.       driver because it is much faster, gives you more color
  139.       depth (256 vs. 16) and provides higher refresh rates.

  143.    BigMap and Zoom -- Known Limitations
  144.    ------------------------------------
  145.    Zoom is not currently available for AGX-016 based Graphite
  146.    products.
  147.  
  148.    If you are using the BigMap modes when your monitor is
  149.    operating at 120Hz refresh rate, you may see some screen
  150.    noise when you pan.

  154.    Additional Information for QEMM386 Users
  155.    ----------------------------------------
  156.    If you are using QEMM386's Stealth feature (indicated by ST:M
  157.    or ST:F on the QEMM386 device line in CONFIG.SYS) and you are
  158.    experiencing random problems in Windows or DOS, try excluding
  159.    the Graphite's BIOS area from Stealth by adding the parameter
  160.    XST=C000 to your QEMM386 device line.  This is in addition to
  161.    the memory exclusion statements covered in the Graphite manual.
