This file contains additional information/changes about the software
and user's manual that was not available at printing time.
SG3.EXE (see Section 1.5.1 - Using the Diagnostics Program)
===========================================================
The DMA Setting in the Sound Hardware Testing Window should be
"Channel 1" instead of "Channel 3" (as stated in the user's manual).
Troubleshooting Guide (see Appendix A)
======================================
Under Case 1 of the Troubleshooting Guide, remove the solution for
"Volume control adjustment".
SGCOX.EXE (see Appendix B - Setting Compatibility Modes)
========================================================
Note that the SGCOX.EXE program is found under the "C:\SGBAS16\UTILITY"
directory (default) instead of the "C:\SGPRO16\UTILITY" directory (as
stated in the user's manual).
Mitsumi CD-ROM DMA Channel Selection Jumper Block (see Section C.1.3)
=====================================================================
There is an additional setting for the Mitsumi CD-ROM DMA Channel
Selection Jumper Block:

Pins DRQ0 - open Pins DAK0 - open DMA Channel Setting for
Pins DRQ1 - open Pins DAK1 - open Mitsumi CD-ROM interface
Pins DRQ3 - open Pins DAK3 - open is disabled.
The above setting should replace "DMA Channel 1" as the default setting.
SGP16FIG.EXE (see Section C.2.1 - Using the Configuration Program)

The DMA Setting in the Hardware Configuration Program should be
"Channel 1" instead of "Channel 3" (as stated in the user's manual).
Using Digital (.WAV) Audio with DOS 6.0's DoubleSpace*
======================================================
The DoubleSpace utility included with DOS 6.0 can cause problems
if you attempt to play or record "high data rate" (i.e.: stereo/
44.1kHz/16-bit) digital audio to or from a compressed disk. In
DOSDAT or WinDAT, the symptom will be a "Disk Could Not Keep Up
With Digital Audio" error message, or in some cases the program
may even crash.
Therefore, if you anticipate that you will be playing or recording
a lot of stereo/44.1kHz/16-bit digital audio, you should set up a
non-compressed drive partition and configure both DOSDAT and WinDAT
to use this drive as their Work and Temp directories. In both
programs this is done from the Setup window.
For information on setting up a non-compressed partition for your
hard drive, refer to your DOS 6.0 Users Guide.
* The same procedure should be followed if you are using Stacker, a
third-party disk compression utility.
Changes To Audiostation v1.11 and later
=======================================
The user interface for Audiostation v1.11 and later has been changed
slightly in order to make it easier to use.
To go to the last or first item in a MIDI, CD, or DAT playlist, you
should click on the Next or Previous button while holding down the
[Shift] key on your computer keyboard. This was previously
accomplished by double-clicking on the Next or Previous buttons.
The CD Module's Playlist window now includes a Next button that makes
it easier when you're naming tracks for a CD playlist. Once you've
entered the name for a track, either click on the Next button or press
the Enter key to name the next track.
Notes About Using EMM386.EXE
============================
When running applications with EMM386.EXE installed, the following
error message may appear:
"EMM386 DMA buffer is too small"
You can overcome this problem in two ways:
- remove the EMM386.EXE entry from the CONFIG.SYS file
OR
- add the following parameter to the EMM386.EXE entry in the
CONFIG.SYS file:
D=64
where D specifies how many kilobytes of memory should be
reserved for buffered Direct Memory Access (DMA).
An example of this may be:
