  12.    Notes About Using EMM386.EXE
  13.    ============================

  15.    When running applications with EMM386.EXE installed, the following
  16.    error message may appear:
  17.  
  18.       "EMM386 DMA buffer is too small"
  19.  
  20.    You can overcome this problem in two ways:
  21.  
  22.       - remove the EMM386.EXE entry from the CONFIG.SYS file
  23.  
  24.       OR
  25.  
  26.       - add the following parameter to the EMM386.EXE entry in the
  27.         CONFIG.SYS file:
  28.  
  29.            D=64
  30.  
  31.            where D specifies how many kilobytes of memory should be
  32.            reserved for buffered Direct Memory Access (DMA).

  34.         An example of this may be:

  36.            C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE D=64
