Covox Windows Drivers.
Copyright (c) 1992, 1993 Covox Inc.
The Covox Windows Drivers allow your Windows 3.1 system to
use Multimedia applications and the sound features included in
Microsoft Windows 3.1. They provide MCI Digitized sound support for
the Voice Master, Voice Master System II, and Speech Thing. In
addition, they provide MCI Digitized sound and MIDI drivers for the
Sound Master II.
Before you install the Windows drivers, you must first remove
all previous versions. Check your \WINDOWS and \WINDOWS\SYSTEM
directories for CVXDMA.DRV, CVXMIDI.DRV, COVOXMID.386, and
COVOXDMA.386. Delete those files if present. This is very
important, since you will not be able to update your drivers unless
you remove those.
Also delete the files from your \COVOX\WINDRV directory and
replace them with the files included with this document.
Start up Windows. From the Program Manager, select the File
Menu. Select Run. Browse for the Setup.Exe program, which you
should have copied to your \COVOX\WINDRV directory, and run it.
Follow the directions below for your Covox product.
Speech Thing
Install only the LPT driver. This will allow you to play back
digitized sound under Windows.
Voice Master (Non-DMA)
Install only the LPT driver, as for the Speech Thing. You will need
to run the THING program which came with your Voice Master before
starting Windows.
Voice Master (DMA)
Install only the DMA driver. This will allow you to record and play
back digitized sound under Windows.
Voice Master External
Install only the LPT driver, as for the Speech Thing. This will
allow you to play back digitized sound under Windows.
Sound Master II
Install the DMA driver to be able to play back and record digitized
sound under Windows. Also install the MIDI driver if you have a MIDI
keyboard and would like to be able to use it under Windows. If you
do not have a MIDI keyboard and would like to use MIDI under Windows,
you will need to install the AdLib driver which was provided on your
Windows distribution disks.
Sound Master Plus
Follow Voice Master (Non-DMA) instructions.
Sound Master
Follow Voice Master (Non-DMA) instructions. Replace THING with
SMTHING.
Midi Maestro
