a different manufacturer, you must use the driver(s) that came with that
CD-ROM drive.

INSTALLATION
------------
The installer will modify your CONFIG.SYS & AUTOEXEC.BAT files by adding
the following statements:
CONFIG.SYS:
Device=C:\GW32\CDD.SYS /D:MSCD0001 /P:360
AUTOEXEC.BAT:
C:\GW32\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD0001 /M:10
See the manual for instructions on how to hook up your CDS-3110 CD-ROM
drive. Backup copies of your AUTOEXEC.BAT & CONFIG.SYS will be
automatically made for you. The files are called: AUTOEXEC.G32 &
CONFIG.G32.
You must copy MSCDEX.EXE from your DOS 6.0 directory or from the CD-ROM
installation diskette provided with your drive into the GW32
subdirectory.
If you have questions that are not covered in the manual or on this
installation diskette, contact Orchid Technical Support (See Technical
Support section of this diskette).
Note: Network users with READ ONLY files should manually modify their
CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files or reset their attribute to
READ/WRITE and rerun this installation. The GW32.EXE will also
modify your CONFIG.SYS file with the following device statement:
DEVICE=C:\GW32\SWCD.SYS /i:9 /a:360
Where i=interrupt and a=I/O address. This Device statement needs
to be before the CDD.SYS statement, so that it executes first.
EndOrchidCD:
HelpConfig:
Because of the features provided on this card, multiple I/O addresses
and IRQs are used. Orchid recommends that you verify the addresses and
IRQs you are currently using before you continue. For Example:
1. A BUS Mouse commonly uses I/O address 240Hex
2. Networking Cards commonly use IRQ 10 or 11 and I/O address 300H,
320H, 340H or 360H.
3. SCSI Cards (Hard Disk, CD-ROM, etc.) commonly use I/O address 330H,
or 340H, Note: Most offer 6-8 addresses to choose from. They also
use IRQ 10, 11, 14 or 15.
4. If you encounter an IRQ conflict, you will often hear a continuous
scream from the speakers.
5. I/O address and DMA conflicts sometimes lock up the system.
If you are using any of the types of hardware mentioned, please check the
card(s) and write down the address. Programs like QAPLUS (a diagnostic
application) or Microsoft "MSD.EXE" (which comes with Windows 3.1) can be
used to check your system options.
If a conflict occurs with one or more of the addresses, DMA, or IRQ
check the options on the other cards in your system and re-run the
GW32 /C program to reconfigure the sound card.
Driver files will be copied into your Windows\System subdirectory. Your
SYSTEM.INI and SETUP.INF files will be updated with driver statements for
your convenience.
On network servers, the files are copied into your Windows directory.
Your SETUP.INF and MIDIMAP.CFG must be changed to Read/Write (if set
to Read Only) before continuing this installation. The SYSTEM.INI and
CONRTOL.INI are modified on the Window's working directory (i.e.
location of WIN.COM).
If you have questions that are not covered in the manual or on this
installation diskette, contact Orchid Technical Support (See Technical
Support section of this diskette).
EndConfig:

need to re-run the configuration program, change directories to the
\GW32 and type: GW32 /C and press <ENTER>. Other options are:
GW32 -- (No Option) to configure the hardware.
GW32 /? -- to display this command line help menu.
GW32 /S -- to check the status of your current configuration.
GW32 /C -- to re-configure the hardware setup values I/O, DMA, IRQ, etc.
GW32 /F:FileName -- to force the loading of a specific DSP code.
Where FileName is either GENMID.LD or MT32.LD.
If a conflict occures with one or more of the addresses, DMA, or IRQ
check the options on the other cards in your system and re-run the
GW32 /C program to reconfigure the sound card.
1. A BUS Mouse commonly uses I/O address 240Hex
2. Networking Cards commonly use IRQ 10 or 11 and I/O address 300H,
320H, 340H or 360H.
3. SCSI Cards (Hard Disk, CD-ROM, etc.) commonly use I/O address 330H,

use IRQ 10, 11, 14 or 15.
4. If you encounter an IRQ conflict, you will often hear a continuous
scream from the speakers.
5. I/O address and DMA conflicts usually lock up the system.

Orchid Technology's SINSTALL program will automatically modify your
CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files with the device information displayed
on the screen. The installer will also make backup copies of these
files called CONFIG.S32 and AUTOEXEC.S32. If you do not want SINSTALL
to modify your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files, choose the "Do Not
Modify" option and edit the files yourself manually.
Note: Network users with READ ONLY files should manually modify their
CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files. The GW32.EXE will also modify
