  3. THE RISS TRUETYPE FONT PAK, VOL. #1

  6. For help installing this product, we've listed additional
  7. instructions below.  Please read the section titled
  8. "INSTALLING THE FONTS".

  13. WHAT IS THE RISS TRUETYPE FONT PAK?
  14. -----------------------------------

  16. With the advent of Windows 3.1, Windows now offers built-in
  17. support for new and improved scalable typefaces called
  18. TrueType Fonts.  The fonts are wonderful because they give an
  19. accurate representation, on screen, of what a document will
  20. look like once printed.  These fonts provide true "WYSIWYG"
  21. ("What you see is what you get").  Because the fonts are
  22. scalable, any characters in a TrueType font can be quickly
  23. and easily sized to be as big or as small as desired!

  25. The RISS TrueType Font Pak, Vol.  #1, is a package
  26. containing several unique and interesting TrueType fonts for
  27. use with Windows 3.1.  Once these fonts are installed, they
  28. become an integrated part of Windows, and can be used with
  29. any application that supports TrueType fonts (most do).
  30.  
  31. The fonts in this package can be used to jazz up any
  32. document, brochure, poster, letter, etc.  Several of the
  33. fonts are interesting and unique "informal" fonts, for adding
  34. that special touch, while others are very beneficial for
  35. adding the proper typeface to an important business document
  36. or presentation.

  41. OTHER RISS FONT PAK COLLECTIONS
  42. ---------------------------------------

  44. As previously mentioned, Rhode Island Soft Systems, Inc.
  45. has developed several Font Pak collections similar to 
  46. RISS Font Pak #1.  As of the date of release of this product,
  47. we currently have three (3) Font Pak collections available,
  48. with several more already under development and near 
  49. completion.
  50.  
  51. Rhode Island Soft Systems, Inc. offers a special discount
  52. on other Font Pak collections that are registered at the 
  53. same time as RISS Font Pak #1.  When registering RISS Font
  54. Pak #1, if a user registers RISS Font Pak #2 at the same
  55. time, we include RISS Font Pak #3 for FREE!  Considering the
  56. savings, including S&H, this amounts to HALF OFF the normal
  57. price!  Of course, the disks that are sent are the fully
  58. registered "Deluxe" versions of the Font Paks, containing
  59. all of the fonts found in the shareware version, plus the
  60. extra ones sent in the "Deluxe" version as well!  Please
  61. see the registration form (REGISTER.WRI) for more 
  62. information.

  67. INSTALLING THE FONTS
  68. --------------------

  70. The RISS Font Pak is shipped with a comprehensive 
  71. installation program to automate traditional installation.  
  72. To install the package, you must be in the Windows 
  73. environment.  You will use the SETUP program supplied as 
  74. part of the package, to install it.

  76. From Program Manager's main window, select "File".  This 
  77. will cause a menu to drop down.  Next, select "Run...".
  78. A dialog box will pop up requeting a "Command Line".
  79.  
  80. If the files are on a floppy disk, insert the diskette
  81. into the A:  or B:  drive, as appropriate and type either
  82. "A:\SETUP" or "B:\SETUP", respectively (do not type the
  83. quotes).  You must execute the "SETUP" program that is
  84. located on the diskette.

  86. If the files are in a directory on a hard drive, enter the
  87. full drive and directory path to where the files are located
  88. such as "C:\TEMP\SETUP".

  90. Please note that these are just examples -- the directory
  91. names and drives will certainly be different for each
  92. individual computer.  The above examples are for 
  93. illustrative purposes only.

  95. After entering the command to execute SETUP, press the
  96. ENTER key or click on the "OK" button.  At this point SETUP
  97. will handle the entire process of installing the files.
  98.  
  99. That's all there is to it!  The installation program 
  100. automatically detects the necessary system settings, and
  101. performs the installation unattended.  The fonts in this
  102. package will automatically be included in the list of
  103. TrueType fonts that are available for use in any program
  104. that supports them.
