  46.   shape neck:bind off 9sts at front edge once-23 sts.
  47.   work even for 4 rows. sl sts to a holder. break yearn
  48.   leaving a 12" strand for weaving shoulders tog.
  49.   back bodice and sleeves:sl next 12sts from holder to
  50.   needle. from right side, join 2, k1 row, p1 row. cont
  51.   to work in st st, inc1 st each side very other row 6
  52.   times. then cast on 8 sts each side every other row
  53.   twice-56 sts. work even for 1" above last cast on sts.
  54.   cut yarnl sl sts to a holder.
  55.   left frontbodice and sleeve:sl rem 10 sts from holder
  56.   to needle. from right side, join w at arm side, k6,
  57.   sl1, k3. work to correspond to right front, reversing
  58.   shaping. place front bodice sts on one needle, back
  59.   bodice sts on another needle. weave tog back and front
  60.   shoulder seams (23sts) in kitchener st, placing center
  61.   10 sts of back on a safety pin for neck.

  63.   sleeve facing: from right side, with w, pick up and
  64.   k16 sts, around sleeve edge. k1 row on wrong side for
  65.   turning ridge, k1row, p1 row, k1 row. bind off

  67.   collar:from right side, join w in 8th st from right
  68.   front edge. pick up and k 5sts on right front neck,
  69.   place the 10 sts from safety pin on left hand needle
  70.   and k, pick up and k5 sts on left front neck, ending
  71.   in 8th st from left front edge-20 sts. work in st st
  72.   for 4 rows, k1 row on wrong side for turning ridge, k1
  73.   row, p1 row for 4 rows. bind off.

  75.   finishing:steam press lightly. sew side and sleeve
  76.   seams. turn hem and facings to inside, sew in place.
  77.   sew 3 hooks and eyes on wrong side of front bodice so
  78.   that when closed fronts will meet. with g, make 3
  79.   french knots on each front over hooks and eyes.
  80.  
  81.   tie sash:with g and crochet hook, make chain 15" long.
  82.   with crochet hook pull two 1 1/2" strands of w an g
  83.   through first and last ch. knot and trim for tassel.
  84.   with a strand of w, make a small belt loop at each
  85.   side of waist at underarms.
