'Copyright infringement is the sincerest form of flattery'
-- Matt Groening
***** Welcome to HOMERDOOM 2 *****
This file will change over 200 of your Doom program's graphics files, and
most of it's sound files. The result is a hilarious game which has a
completely different look and atmosphere to it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description:
You are Homer Simpson, A happy, but incredibly stupid nuclear plant worker.
Due to your incompetence, an accident has occured at the Springfield power
plant, flooding the town with radiation, and causing a government experiment
at the nearby Army base to go wrong. Terribly wrong. Your friends and
neighbors have been kidnapped and cloned by evil zombies, leaving you as
the only one left to save them. You must dodge flying beer bottles, and
destroy the evil zombies to reach the others. With a bag of jelly donuts and
an armored vest made out of empty soda and beer cans- you begin your quest....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing HOMERDOOM2 -
You will need the following files in your working directory ---
* DOOM WAD file copy
* DMGRAPH.EXE - by Bill Neisius (included in this zip file)
* DMAUD.EXE - also by Bill Neisius (also included)
* All the *.gif files (+)
* All the *.wav files (+)
* HOMER-ME.bat file
There is no uninstall included so make a backup copy of your DOOM1.wad file
before beginning if you don't already have one.
Type> HOMER-ME
Move the new doom.wad file into your DOOM directory.
------
If you get sick of HOMERDOOM2, (could never happen but...) rename your modified
doom.wad to something else, and your backup file back to doom.wad so the DOOM
program will recognize it again.
This game was built on version 1.2 - I dunno if it works on any other versions
cause I haven't got em yet. if it doesn't; get 1.2 --it'll be worth it.
Although this file may work on both Registered and unregistered versions,
YOU CAN NOT use it unless you are a registered owner by request of ID.
Notes:
-----
There are many bugs; for the most part they are minor enough that I figured
they weren't worth the effort to fix -
I have changed a few of the wall and floor textures, as well as some of the
objects, this was origionally intended to fit into a pwad file of the
Simpson's house. Unfortunately the pwad I was working on has developed a
nasty bug which I am having a really bad time figuring out -- so it will
not be released with this package. Please build your own pwads to fit the
HOMER theme and release them if your building skill is better than mine.
Until then, you can run homer doom with your favorite wads, or the standard
levels.
Disclaimers:
-----------
The Simpsons' characters, names, and sounds are property of their respective
copyright holders. The creators of the Simpsons have no connection with, and
do not endorse this game. It in no way reflects upon them in any way.
All other Trademarks and Copyrights are property of their respective holders
WARNING - this game relies heavily on parody. If you are too uptight, dense
or just plain stupid to get it, delete these files immediately.
Do not operate heavy equipment while playing this game.
The characters contained in this program are fictional, any resemblance to
actual persons, living or dead, would be a very scary thing.
If you experience any discomfort, nausea, vomiting, or anal itching -
stop playing immediately and consult your physician.
Now would be a nice time for a cookie.

Credits ---
Of course - The Wizards of ID. What can I say? They are gods. building such
an unbelievable program, and then letting us do cool dopey stuff with it like
this. Thanks.
This doom add-on was inspired by the collection of Simpson sounds compiled by
Dave Sawford and Andrew Gerrard. Most of the sounds included in this package
were sampled by them, so If you like the sounds, give them credit,
if you don't - blame me.
I would very much like to thank Bill Neisius, who's awesome utilities
DMGRAPH and DMAUD made this little parody possible.
If you like this please force your friends to take copies of it,
so the time I spent on this will end up being worth something to someone.
If you actually read this whole thing, you need to relax more. I would've
never made it this far... Go play HOMERDOOM.

Included files.....
DMGRAPH.exe
DMAUD.exe
DMAUD and DMGRAPH were written by Bill Neisius (bill@solaria.hac.com).
I am including them with this package to help make installation easier.
They made this add-on possible.
Some .WAV format sound files
Some of these sounds were sampled by Dave Sawford and Andrew Gerrard.
for the origional HomerDOOM files. They were the inspiration for this
add-on. The origional files have been changed a bit to better fit the
(so-called) plot. Extra files are included so you can change the game
to fit your own tastes.
A bunch of .GIF files
I only had a real crap paint program to work with, so forgive me on the
quality of some of 'em.
HOMER-ME.bat
The installation program. Run this to install HOMERDOOM2.
I decided on a batch program because they are so darn easy to modify.
You can change anything you like on it without much effort.
