  18.  "Homebrew" is the 2nd album  from  the
  19. most  famous  swedish  musician : Neneh
  20. Cherry.A very important point to notice
  21. about this album is that  it  has  been
  22. engineered by Cameron Mc Vey who  lives
  23. with Neneh and who  had  also  produced
  24. and  mixed   all  tracks  from  Massive
  25. Attack's album : "Blue Lines". So a few
  26. songs sound like it.  Some shuffle beat
  27. boxes, some peaceful scratches...
  28.  It a bit less pop than  her 1st album,
  29. even if the single  " For  the  love of
  30. money "  is  funky  or if the song with
  31. Michael Stipe of Rem winks at Rock.
  32.  One of the  subject  songs  deal  with
  33. is Sex. But it is much more  inteligent
  34. and relevant than "Salt and Pepper"  or
  35. Madonna.
  36. The tone is funnier,cooler... ( tongue-
  37. in-cheek ). She says things like sex is
  38. beautiful, children need to  learn  sex
  39. in school, relations between  male  and
  40. female might  be  tenderness, affection
  41. shared and not a try of domination. But
  42. it is never moralist or militant.
  43.  And finally to be complete I must  say
  44. that there's a song featuring Guru from
  45. Gangstarr.
  46.  It's a very good record  that  can  be
  47. listened to by Hip-Hop-freaks but  also
  48. by people who like authentic things.
  49. There's no compromise, ulterior motives
  50. or anything like that,Neneh Cherry  did
  51. what she wanted to do and we thank her.

  63.  With the coming of bands like Arrested
  64. Development & D.C. Basehead in the  Rap
  65. world ,   it  seems  to  be  time   for
  66. negociations.  Even  if rap identity is
  67. urban and destroy  after  L.A.'s riots,
  68. hard-boiled rappers  talk  about peace,
  69. and Bloods and Crips in L.A are said to
  70. walk together now.
  71.  So we expected  from  Public  Enemy  a
  72. change.  And  if Greatest misses is not
  73. a radical  change,  it  is  nevetheless
  74. a deceleration...
  75. "Tie goes the runner"  and  "Hazy shade
  76. of criminal" sound  like  the  previous
  77. 2 albums,  but  the  4 other new titles
  78. are cooler than what they were doing.
  79. "Get off my back"  can  easily  be sung
  80. under your shower...
  81.  The  6  other  tracks  are  old  songs
  82. remixed. It might  be  for  people  who
  83. didn't know PE 1st  albums, but  except
  84. "Louder than a bomb"  which is magnify,
  85. the new versions of the 5  other  songs
  86. don't bring anything new to the titles.
  87.  What can we expect from PE next  album
  88. something  "politicaly correct" ?  or a
  89. new apocalypse ? 
  90. Who knows... and who really know what
  91. would be better ?

  103.  I went to my usual shop record to  buy
  104. the James  &  Walter's  album,  but  it
  105. wasn't  in  the boxes. So I checked the
  106. new rap  records,  Stereo  Mc's  wasn't
  107. there but many from Marky Mark...
  108.  I've  finally  bought  it, even  if  I
  109. didn't know anything about this record.
  110.  My  very  1st  impression was not very
  111. good a bit too funk  and  pop  from  my
  112. point.
  113.  Back at home, I look at the sleeve,and
  114. I read the greetings....amazement...
  115. New Kids On The Block  are in !!!!  and
  116. Addidas is greeted as sneaker supplier,
  117. and Roots for supplying their clothes.

  119.  A few days later Gangster/MV phoned me
  120. I told him about  my  purchase  and  he
  121. told me the uncensored truth...
  122. Marky Mark is the brother of a guy from
  123. New Kids.
  124.  Marky's voice sucks,lyrics are insipid
  125. I'm very ashamed of having bought  such
  126. a shit.
  127.  If anybody like M.M., I'm okay to sell
  128. him my original tape or to swap it  for
  129. anything else even a blank tape.  It is

  140.  If you expect  from a record  to  give
  141. you preconceived ideas, solutions about
  142. world problems, this record is not  for
  143. you.
  144.  This record  deals  with  values  like
  145. friendship,fraternity,right to love and
  146. to be loved.
  147.  Frank and Walters world  is not  ours,
  148. They live far away from  our  world  of
  149. fashion and of ambition.
  150.  Their music is joyful, a bit like  the
  151. "Shinny  Happy people"  of  REM.  Their
  152. authenticity and their simplicity  give
  153. some entertaining melodies.
  154.  Simple things are the  most  difficult
  155. things to talk about.  The F&W find the
  156. right words talk to about them,and I am
  157. not able to talk about their words;just
  158. listen  to  their  music  and  you will
  159. be  impressed   by   it , as  kids  are
  160. impressed  watching  trains, boats  and
  161. planes.

  173.    This is not  their  new album, but a
  174. compilation.  Is Nirvana  going  to  be
  175. a commercial band ?
  176. But it is more than a classic 'Greatest
  177. hits' record.                 The  only
  178. song which is  on their previous  album
  179. ( Never Mind ) is  Polly  and  the  new
  180. version is a  very quick one.  It can't
  181. be compared with the original one.
  182.  The 13  other  songs  are  old  unknow
  183. songs.       In  fact  it  is  B  sides
  184. of singles, Bonus tracks...    From  my
  185. point of view if you enjoyed Never Mind
  186. you might buy "Bleach" their first real
  187. album,it is better.  But  if  you're  a
  188. fan of  Nirvana,  ( you   already   got
  189. "Bleach" ),  so  buy  "Incesticide" you
  190. won't be  disapointed  by  titles  like
  191. "DIVE" or "Molly's lips".
