  2.       Review: Grandad and the Quest for the Holey Vest

  5. Everybody's heard of this,  everybody  knows  it's good, but
  6. I wonder how many of you have  got it. We're going to review
  7. it, to tell  you  just  how  brilliant  this  game, from Ian
  8. Scott, is.
  9.  
  10. Grandad has gone and lost his vest.  He wakes up in the hall
  11. one morning to find all  the  doors  locked, except one, and
  12. his string vest  missing.  It's  a  very  chilly morning, so
  13. Grandad needs  to  find  it  or  he'll  die  of hypothermia.
  14. Anyway, you have to help Grandad find it by solving loads of
  15. puzzles and talking to  some  other  people like Lucy Lastic
  16. and The Kid from  Next  Door!  Some  puzzles  are hard, some
  17. puzzles are OK and some  puzzles  are  easy. The game starts
  18. off very easy and  progresses  to  being  very hard, at some
  19. points where you have to look up some words in a dictionary.
  20. There are also several  clues  to  help  you  - these can be
  21. found in odd places like books or on doors.

  23. The graphics in this  game  are  nothing  but brilliant. The
  24. detail that has gone in them is immense - when Grandad moves
  25. into the distance, him and his  wheelchair  (yes - he's in a
  26. wheelchair) get smaller, and  when  he  comes towards you he
  27. gets closer. There's even a  GB  sticker  on the back of his
  28. wheelchair! There are no sounds in  the game; the odd little
  29. tinkle  of  music  and  a  pinging  noise  when  you  select
  30. something,  but  nothing  else.  Really,  the  gameplay  and
  31. addictiveness makes up for this.  Grandad  is really a truly
  32. brilliant game. If I were you, I'd order it from us straight
  33. away.

  35. Before I go, I must  remember  to  tell you that Grandad and
  36. the Quest for the Holey  Vest  is  Shareware. To go into the
  37. cellar you require a code which is available for £5 from Ian
  38. Scott. It really is worth  registering; without the code you
  39. can't go any further. So go  on  -  order it and register at
  40. the same time. You won't be disappointed!
