'ALIENS DEMO' REVIEW
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This disk is a standard slideshow and samples display, written in STOS
Basic. Unfortunately, due to the version of Compiler used, it is not
STE Compatable. (Lucky I've got a 520ST as well!)
There are 20 digitised pictures, in NEOChrome format, and 8 samples
(including a short 100K version of the title music). The slideshow
plays through each picture, and if there is one available, it plays a
sample for it as well. The samples are of good quality.
To simulate the number of colours that the digitiser uses, the
slideshow has a quick palette-flick to give the impression of more
greyscales. When watching the demo close to the screen, or if it is
bright, then you can notice that it is quite flickery. If, however you
are sitting quite a distance away from the screen, and it is dark, then
it looks quite good.
Also on the disk are two soundtracker songs which contain some samples
from the demo (they sound quite the same to me).
Overall, this disk is of good quality, and if you are aliens fan, you
will be very impressed.
