Street Fighter 2
Street Fighter 2
~~~~ STREET FIGHTER 2 ~~~~
==========================
I did thi fu**ing review last night, but I was checking over all
of my files and I realised that I didn't have the Street Fighter 2
document anymore, so after searching all my disks and still not
finding it, I have decided to do it again. Remember you can send
in your game reviews (it doesn't matter what game or how old it
is, infact it doesn't even have to be a game, any software!) then
after reading the, "WRITING TO POWER" article, send them in to:
POWER
MAIDSTONE
NOW ON WITH THE REVIEW!
For those of you who don't know what Street Fighter 2 is, it is
the sequal to Street Fighter 1. Being serious, it was an arcade
hit and was played everywhere. The famous beat 'em up was then
converted to the Super Nintendo. Now it has been taken onto the
ST. So has the game kept it's original addiction?
The answer is "YES, just about!". This really is a brilliant
game. I usely don't like beat 'em up games as they usely begin to
get quite boring. Street Fighter 2 is different though. I have
been playing it for nearly a year and have completed it about 5
times but I still enjoy playing it. One of the reasons for this is
because of the amount of choice so that every fight is different.
You can choose out of 8 characters.
Each character has loads of move with some secret moves too which
involve a number of moves on the joystick very fast to be able to
perform them.
You can pick out of 16 different places to fight and each
different place has it's own music to go with it.
The 8 characters are:
RYU - A Japanese martial artist.
KEN - The same as RYU only he is American.
CHUN LI - The only woman but is you one mean Chinese!
BLANKA - A Brazilian...Thing which is half animal and half man.
ZANGIEF - A good character if you can use him properly.
DHALSIM - A yoga artist with stretch legs and arms.
GUILE - A very fast and flash American.
E. HONDA - The good old Sumo Wrestler!
Each one of these has a special move of two. Here are each of the
characters with their special move(s):
RYU - Dragon punch and a blue flame that comes out of his hands.
KEN - As above.
CHUN LI - Spinning birdie kick.
E. HONDA - Hundred slap a second. Shooting torpedo.
ZANGIEF - Poledrivers and Spinning Poledrivers.
BLANKA - Electicution and Rolling Cannon Ball.
GUILE - Birdie kick and Flash Kick.
DHALSIM - Spinning spear, Yoga Flame and Fired Spinning Spear.
There are some more characters when you play against the computer
but I won't go into that.
The graphics are very good along with clear and crisp, realistic
sounds and good background music.
There are loads of different animated back grounds which are all
very good although you don't really notice them when playing. The
collision detection is pixel perfect and animation is very smoot
and fast.
The only real problem is that you have four disks and have alot of
disk swapping to do when you want to play in a new country.
The game is brilliant and provides limitless fun, even if a
beginner was playing the national champion there is a special mode
where you could make each oter equal.
Everything has been thought about in this game and for £25.99 it's
the only Beat 'em up I would get if I were you. Whether you like
them or not, you will still enjoy playing this one!
