A Ghostly Experience

Ghosts  are a subject that people are very sensitive with,  many don't  even

beleive in ghosts.   I personally didn't used to be sure whether I  beleived

in ghosts or not, but I used to read every book about them and go to as many

ghost investigations as I could - The subject fascinated me!

I had been to about four proper ghost investigations,  and all four of  them

had  reasonable  explanations such as creaking floor boards -  They  weren't

creaking  because  something  was  walking across  them,  it  was  the  wood

expanding in the heat.   There was even an investigation that nearly got  me

beleiving  in  ghosts though and that was this continuous  thudding  in  the

ceiling  above the first floor.   It sounded like someone or  someTHING  was

trapped  inside  the  ceiling  and was trying to  get  out.   There  WAS  an

explanation  though  although it was something that we found out  purely  by

chance.   We  went upstairs to see if anything was apparent while  2  others

stayed downstairs to see if they could still here the banging.   They could,

I  knelt down on the floor in the bedroom as that seemed to be the  spot  it

was  coming from.   I shifted my body backwards and forwards with my ear  to

the  ground  while the others linked up machines to the  floor  and  another

started  ripping up the carpet.   I moved back some more and knocked over  a

chair,

"IT'S  STOPPED!!!" they both cried from downstairs.   I looked at the  chair

and the contents on top of it that I had knocked over.  Nothing but an alarm

clock.   I stood the chair up again and then placed the clock back onto it's

rightful place,

"IT'S STARTED AGAIN!" they shouted from downstairs.   It seemed that it  was

the clock making the noises.   After a few simple tests,  we proved that the

loud  thuddings were being produces by the vibrations of the  ticking  clock

were  being  passed  down the chair legs and then  filtering  out  into  the

ceiling.   This just shows that sometimes, something very simple can explain

something that seems unexplainable but there was an investigation that  made

me  fully  beleive in ghosts as there were no explanations at  all  and  the

strangest  things  were  said  to have happened there  -  Some  that  I  had

expereienced myself!

Most  who I have told this to don't beleive me,  you probably won't  either,

but beleive me,  this is true and this changed my views on ghosts completley

and I have never been the same since this experience.

It  was a small house in London that we had had a call from telling us  that

all  kinds of things had been happening,  including flying objects  and  the

callers  husband  being strangled.   The husband was alright  but  had  been

strangled quite a few times now and naturally,  the family was getting very,

very worried.

Because  I am not trained for these types of things and I just go because  I

am  intrested  and can offer little help.   I wasn't allowed to go  for  the

first two days while they tried to find an explanation or proof  that  these

people  could  have been making this up.   The crew of 5 went up  there  and

firstly  had a good talk about everything that had happened.   It  seemed  a

very  unlikely  story,  but the crew set up their equipment and  stayed  the

night.

Nothing  happened that night but the crew decided to stay for another  three

nights, even if something didn't happen.  If something DID happen before the

three nights,  then they would stay a bit longer.   They did not need  three

nights though, as that night, all their equipment went mad and the crew tell

me that a breeze could be felt.  They saw nothing that night, but they heard

alot,  they  heard doors opening behind them when there wasn't even  a  door

there and they could feel a very cold breeze although no windows,  doors  or

coolers were open.   A strange smell was also lingering too or so I am  told

although still, nothing was seen.  This went on for around 12 minutes but in

that time, there was not one sighting.

My friend (Part of the crew) told me that I could come in the next day,  and

that  they  were staying in this house untill they could find out  what  was

happening in this place.

The next day,  I went round and was told about everything that had happened.

2 of the crew stayed in the house attaching nerve devices to the dog as  the

dog had been known to keep away from everywhere apart from the bath room and

everytime it went up the stairs, it's hair would stick up on end.

Meanwhile, the rest of us went to go and find some imformation on this home.

We tried to look up past owners but none except one had aything to say.  The

house  had 6 owners in the past 8 years and on finding the very first  owner

of that eight years,  we were explained something by the 92 year  old.   She

explained  that  she  had  been told by the seller  that  this  was  a  very

intresting house because of it's background.   The lady told me how she  had

asked  the  agent  for  a house with an  intresting  background  of  strange

behaviour  as she liked those kinds of things.   She was told by  the  agent

that  some reports had come about the house and its strange  happenings  and

that  in the 1800's a woman was strangled by her husband and if  she  looked

down  in the cellar,  she would notice that alot of it had been bricked  off

and  nobody knew why.   The old lady said that nothing had happened  in  the

time she had been there so she left as she didn't really like the house  and

there was nothing happening there.   We thanked her for this imformation and

knew  that this could have been made up by the lady or by the estate  agent,

but we still had to keep it in mind.   The thing was,  that the house didn't

have a cellar as far as we knew.

When we got back to the house,  we looked for a cellar and asked the present

owners if they knew of one.   They didn't.   We rang the old lady and  asked

her where it was.   After her explanation,  we found it.  It was a trap door

underneath the carpet and surely enough, most of the cellar had been bricked

off.

So now,  the next thing to do,  was to find out what was behind those bricks

and why nobody had knocked it down before...
