Gazza 2
~~~~ GAZZA 2 ~~~~
=================
~~~~ COMMERCIAL GAME ~~~~
=========================
~~~~ REVIEWED ~~~~
==================
Well, the man, famous for his crying has a football game out namely known as
the popular 'GAZZA 2'. I don't think anybody has ever seen 'GAZZA 1' and if
you have, please tell me because I don't beleive that there is one!
Gazza 2 is a pretty basic footballing game which is no way as good as Kick
Off 2. Gazza 2 has few options and the options it does have are very basic
and not indepth enough to benefit from a full and real feel of being in
control of a football team. Options simply include things like choosing the
referee and players and maybe a few basic tactic set outs. Basically, the
management and options screens are not very good at all and are too basic
for my liking although if it is just a quick game that you want to get
straight down to then this isn't really that important. Sadly, the rest of
the game isn't good enough to make up for the lack of options. Although
scrolling is pretty smooth, animation is slow and not very cleanly done.
They seems to walk like walking dicks to me and their leg movements seem
very unreal and jerky indeed, especially when turning. It is when turning
when you realise the lack of thought that has gone into the programming,
turning results in turning to one of about eight different set points, in
other words, you can't simply adjust your course of the ball very slightly
and this is annoying and looks bad aswell.
It isn't all bad though because I like the music and if you fancy Gazza then
there is a nice digitised photo of him, that's all that Gazza has got to do
with the whole game really!
Gazza 2 isn't a dreadful game, but when you compare it to another football
game such as kick off 2 (see review in this issue), Gazza doesn't really
stand a chance.
