DESCRIBE WHAT YOU WANT AND WE'LL TELL YOU THE PROGRAM TO GET!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Firstly, what's this column all about?
You know when you want a certain type of game or want a utility or program
that does something but can't find a program that does?...Well, here's your
personal column to help you with just that. We specialise in P.D. but
we'll suggest commercial software too if you so desire.
When you describe your program, it is best if you tell us what computer you
have and how much memory (i.e. an STE with one meg with TOS 1.62). The
more info you give, the better we'll be able to suit a program as we will
take advantage of everything you have. For example, if you're looking for
a good P.D. word processor and you say that you have a 520k ST, then I may
suggest something like FIRST WORD whereas if you say you have 4 megs, I
will look for a P.D. word processor which makes use of 4 megs and is
therefore better.
The first place I will look is in POWER P.D. (my P.D.L.). Obviously, there
is always P.D. that isn't catalogued in my catalogue disk and this is the
fastest way to find a program. If I can't find a suitable program there, I
will search other P.D.L.'s which I am in contact with and also contacts.
We will then (providing it's P.D. and you supply a disk and S.S.A.E.), we
will then supply you with the program or tell you where to get it.
Now, for this month's input to the column...

Dear POWER,
Can you tell me where I can obtain these so called, 'Compact Disks'
which I've been hearing so much about and can you tell me which are the
best ones.
From Peter Chui
POWER REPLIES:
There are now quite a few C.D's in the P.D. I myself have recently started
up POWER C.D.'s so look out for them. The first POWER C.D. can be obtained
from POWER P.D. on disk PWR 237. I also stock most of the PRINCE compact
disks, a few Adrenaline and Neon Lights too so check 'em all out in my P.D.
catalogue.

Dear POWER,
On some of your POWER disks and also on other disks of yours and
other authors, I have seen a picture on the desktop. I am led to believe
that this is with the aid of a bootsector. Do you have the bootsector
installer in POWER P.D. anywhere and if not, do you know where else might
stock it?
From Jamie Retro
POWER REPLIES:
The program in question isn't a bootsector, it is an autobooting program
which can be obtained on a disk with lots of useful little bits and bobs
on. The disk to order from POWER P.D. is PWR 124.

Dear POWER,
I'm glad that you have started up the new, Program Suggestion
Column because it gives me a chance to try and track down the program you
used to use for intro's on early issues of POWER every now and then. It
was called NOTER but I haven't seen it in any P.D. catalogues including
your POWER P.D. disk catalogue. Is it commercial, exclusive to you or
simply hard to get? If it IS possible for me to ge a copy, can you tell me
where from?
From Anne Kelsey
POWER REPLIES:
As a matter of fact, POWER P.D. -DOES- stock this program and it can be
obtained on disk PWR 129.
