  16. WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO CALL YOUR P.D.L. AGPD?

  18. I  decided on this name because A & G are my initials, and AGPD is short and
  19. catchy.

  22. HOW LONG HAS AGPD BEEN RUNNING?

  24. Behind the scenes, AGPD has been running for about 6 months.

  27. DO YOU SEE A CLOSURE OF YOUR P.D.L. IN THE NEAR FUTURE?

  29. As long as people  are  writing new  software  for  the  P.D.  scene, I will 
  30. distribute it amoungst ST owners.

  33. HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO GET YOUR P.D.L. ESTABLISHED?

  35. It's taken quite a while, but I will be appearing in ST Format next month so
  36. that should help.

  39. WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE THAT YOU WANTED TO START OFF A P.D.L.?
  40.  
  41. I started  it  because I saw so many PDL charging about £2-£3 (which I think 
  42. is a rip off!). Also because a lot of PDL's distribute  un-packed  software,
  43. incomplete  disks, single sided disks and old software that is out  of  date 
  44. and of no use.

  47. ARE YOU GLAD THAT YOU STARTED UP YOUR PUBLIC DOMAIN LIBRARY?

  49. Yes I am. The main reason being that ST owners are friendly and polite people 
  50. to deal with.

  53. WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE DISK IN YOUR COLLECTION?

  55. It has to be G001 which is Tower Power - An excellent two player game which is
  56. good enough to be a commercial title.

  59. WHAT IS IT THAT YOU LIKE ABOUT THE P.D. SCENE?

  61. The main thing I like is that PD programmers are improving - PD software is
  62. getting better and better all the time!

  65. IF ANYTHING, WHAT DO YOU DISLIKE ABOUT THE P.D. SCENE?

  67. P.D.L.'s that are out only to make money.

  70. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE MORE OF IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN?  WHY?

  72. More compiled disks (especially POV's) as they save an awful lot of disks and
  73. they're presented with nice menus with interesting scrollers etc.

  76. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE LESS OF IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN?  WHY?

  78. Commercial  rip-offs  -  Re-written  versions  with  different  names to the 
  79. commercial version of the same program. eg. The Blitz copier which is around -
  80. Power Computing lose out on that, they're a great firm and I don't want to see
  81. them leave the ST.

  98. Definately an Acorn Archimedes - A great machine!

  103. The reliability of it - I've had mine 4 years and I've had no problems with
  104. it at all.

  109. The stupid place that the joystick ports are placed (I suppose everone says
  110. that!)

  115. It has many good years ahead of it, not with the support of Atari, but with
  116. support of the owners, like me and you, James.

  121. By spending money on your computer. Give it some more memory, splash out on
  122. that  Hard  Drive  you've  always  wanted, or  anything else that will give 
  123. companies an incentive to carry on.

  126. WHERE DO YOU THINK ATARI WENT WRONG WITH THE ST?

  128. Definitely   promotion,  well,  lack  of  it  anyway.  Another  thing - Bad
  129. packaging!  Has the ST ever come with any decent software?!

  145. Much better!  P.D. programmers are making a great effort - keep it up!

  156. Some are, but most PDL's are in to give a genuine service.

  161. The three main ones are quite good. But at 3-4 quid they don't compete with
  162. POWER!

  210. Yes, I think they will because the console  market is extremely  profitable, 
  211. and Atari need to start making some money!

  231. To make it good, different, or an improvement to something else that is  
  232. popular. Also, choose something that more people are likely to use. eg. More
  233. people will use (+ maybe register) a copier than a Midi program).

  238. Me?! Well I'm into hardcore/house and dance music, I've got a 1 MEG STFM, a
  239. second diskdrive, an Ultimate Ripper cartridge, a printer and loads of PD!
