Move North into an area under a bridge which contains the wreckage of your
crashed ship. From the wreck, 5 wires and a medikit can be recovered. Go back to
the starting position and head East to find Socrates 19 (he shows up as a
flashing dot on the map). Kill him and take his knife, matches, flask and
computer with spare battery. Fill the flask with water from the waterfall but
don't drink it without boiling it or using disinfecting pellets from the
medikit. At a couple of places around the pond you will find edible
cauliflowers. Don't eat the 'Snow White' pears - they're poisonous.
Head to the far North West to find Darwin 5 who turns into a werewolf. Kill him
and recover his computer before heading South to a shallow incline. Save your
position at the bottom and climb the slope. It's very easy to trip and break a
limb or even die so keep reloading your position and attempting to reach the top
until you manage it unscathed and save again at the top. Head East to an eagle's
nest. It shows up and scratches at your eyes so kill it with the knife (you will
have to tilt your head back to hit it). If it blinds you in one or both eyes the
damage is permanent so reload and try again. Use the knife to cut feathers and
meat from the bird. Go to the nest and take lots of feathers for arrows, and the
egg for food.
Return to the plain and in a recess to the East of the slope is a mound of
worms. Take a few hundred of these (they don't weigh you down) for fishing
later. Use the knife to cut branches from the darker trees and leaves from the
lighter ones.
BRANCH + FEATHERS = ARROW
LEAVES + NEADLE AND THREAD = LEAF HAT
The hat will protect you from the Sun's heat in the canyon and the desert.
Head to the far North West again and crawl into the rocky area which is
inhabited by a tiger. It can be killed with the knife but it will require
split-second timing and the controls are none too responsive. Crawl right round
to the North and by-pass the tiger as you move South. At the far South West
there is a tree which oozes flammable resin. Use the knife to remove lots of the
resin.
BRANCH + RESIN = TORCH
Head to a recess just North of the one you are currently in and you will see
a cave entrance. Light the torch by clicking on it. From now on try not to let
the torch go out. As it runs low use the 'Replace Lit Torch' icon to light a new
one as you only have 20 matches to last the whole game. Put on all of your
clothes ('cos it's cold) and step into the cave.
Inside you will be attacked by cavemen things. Kill them with your knife and
head to the tunnel which run along the North side of the map. Watch your step,
you can trip and die here very easily. Go to the end of the tunnel in the North
West and use the knife to cut some saltpetre from the walls - you only need one
batch. Use the map to find your way to the central cavern. Amid the bones and a
couple of attacking cavemen there is a computer. Take the computer and leave the
bones - they weigh you down and are no use. Head North out of the central cavern
and then walk West to the exit to the swamp. Take some quinine before entering
to prevent malaria and check to see if you've developed a cold. Take antibiotics
if necessary. A tyrannosaur called Kagoo roams around at night and eats people
so, if necessary, spend the night in the cave next to a fire for warmth. If it
is daytime, enter the swamp.
Look at the map. There are essentially four routes to the West. From North
to South the first leads to a tree with edible grapes, the second leads to an
area with five melons which provide a lot of water when eaten, the third leads
to a Robinson who hands you a necklace and gives you a little information and
the fourth leads to a village of women (don't get too eager, they don't like
strangers and they stab anyone who comes near them unless they're wearing the
aforementioned necklace). Take the first three routes in any order. On your
travels you will encounter big green reptilian monsters. Kill them with the
knife and cut off their skins and meat. You should also come across some trees
with creepers (called Liana). Cut off the Liana.
12 REPTILE SKINS + NEEDLE AND THREAD = REPTILE SKIN COAT
10 REPTILE SKINS + NEEDLE AND THREAD = REPTILE SKIN TROUSERS
BRANCH + LIANA = BOW
BRANCH + LIANA + SAFETY PIN = FISHING ROD
FISHING ROD + WORM = FISHING ROD WITH BAIT
Head back to the jungle via the same cave. Make some arrows and a bow and
return to the tiger. Get within range but at a safe distance and fire at it. If
you hit it, it will run towards you. Quickly shoot it again and it should die.
Cut off it's skin and some meat if necessary.
8 FURS + NEEDLE AND THREAD = FUR TROUSERS
4 FURS + NEEDLE AND THREAD = FUR BOOTS
2 FURS + NEEDLE AND THREAD = FUR HAT
1 FUR + NEEDLE AND THREAD = FUR GLOVES
Fur clothes are nice and warm. Put them on in cold environments. Head across
the jungle to the far South East. In a passage you should find another cave
entrance. Enter.
Follow the passage until you reach a narrow section. Crawl through and on
the other side you will be attacked by a very dangerous monster. To kill it,
turn to face North and slash at it with your knife then take a step or two back.
As it crawls towards you slash at it again before it can make its attack. Repeat
this several times to kill it. If it has hit you check your blood levels. The
wounds it inflicts usually result in great blood loss and require stitching to
close them. Use the blood plasma pouches if your blood level it critical. Eating
and drinking will restore blood level over time.
Take the passage at the South West and follow it until you emerge in a cavern with five
or six similar monsters. Don't worry, these are far less dangerous and a few stabs should see
them off. At the far and there is a computer to pick up. Return to the main cavern and take
the passage to the South East. Crawl through and follow it to an exit which leads to the
forest massif. Enter the forest.
Here, Pavlov 95 is running around shooting at anything that moves with his
laser - locate him on the map as a flashing dot. You must kill him. It is
possible to run up to him and stab him with the knife but it isn't easy. The
safest method is to crawl as close as possible without being noticed and shoot
him with an arrow - remember to shoot in front of him because the arrow moves
slowly. When he's dead collect some things from his body: kevlar gloves, a
laser, laser chargers, his computer and a spare battery.
Head to the alcove in the North West and retrieve a computer from the dead
body of Schopenhauer 26. Head towards a passage in the North which runs
eastward. It is lined on either side be stationary tigers. Kill them
individually and carefully with the laser - one shot each is all that is
necessary. Don't rush forward because you will be attacked by the next tiger,
just stalk them carefully. Collect their skins and meat. Make some clothes from
the furs, they weigh less in your ruck sac and the forest massif is pretty cold
so wear them. To the East there is a vast lake - fill your flask if necessary
and do a spot of fishing. An interesting thing to note about fishing is that
every time you catch a fish, the weight in your ruck sac decreases by about
500g! Eating or disposing of the fish loses an extra 200g. This is very useful
for getting around the 50Kg weight limit in your ruck sac.
Go back to the main clearing where you killed Pavlov 95. In the centre of
the map is a small enclosed area where hopping deer-like creatures live. You can
try to shoot them with the laser but it's very difficult. Lay some snares in the
area and leave them - the only problem with a snare is that you only get the
meat, no fur.
BRANCH + WIRE = SNARE but leave one wire for later.
Go South - don't eat the single big red fruit, it's very poisonous. Head up
a slope to the East and on a plateau you will find an apple tree. Take some
apples for food. Head up a slope to the West and follow it round to the East.
You will be fired at by three centaurs (half man, half horse). Stab them and
retrieve an arrow from each one - you don't need the bows. Head North East
across a bridge and get ready to do battle with more centaurs armed with
hatchets. Take a hatchet as soon as possible, they are excellent weapons. The
head centaur has a computer - take it and return to the jungle via the cave.
Return the the crash site and in the far North there is a slope to climb. At
the top go South and then head East across the bridge. To the South there is a
'Majurina' plant (a drug if you hadn't guessed from the suspect name). Take some
leaves, they are useful if you are under stress or in pain (sewing-up wounds
without anaesthetic is possible) but eating too many in one go will kill you
(hypertensive crisis). To the North there is a patrolling tiger. Shoot it with
the bow and arrows or with the laser and take its fur. Go North to find a cave
entrance and enter it with all your furs on - it's -20C in there.
Follow the passage to a large cavern. A pterodactyl will attack - the same
rules apply as with the eagle. When it's dead cross to the Northeastern passage.
Follow it into another cave where Diogenes 48 is waiting with a knife to stab
you. Kill him and take a computer, a razor and a video game (it doesn't serve
any purpose in this game so you may want to dispose of it). The razor can be
used for shaving your character's face (not necessary but hygienic). Return to
the previous cavern and take the Northern passage to reach the exit to the
canyon.
If it is daytime when you enter the canyon you should immediately remove
your clothes and put on the leaf hat - it is very hot and sunny here, sounds
nice dunnit? To the West there are four bison. Shoot the first two from a
distance with the laser. Be careful, if they charge at you they can deafen you,
break your limbs and kill you! Continue West and you should find a passage to
the North. Go through and continue North to find Nietsche 26. Next to him are
three pumpkins which provide a great deal of water when eaten, but they weigh
5Kg each. Listen to what Nietsche 26 says then head East and then start up the
slope which runs West. Continue over the bridge and into a village. The locals
don't like you. They zigzag towards you then stab you with their spears. Kill
them with the hatchet and take some spears if you wish, they are good weapons
but the are heavy and must be retrieved after each throw. There are cacti which
provide moist food, a field of potatoes to the North and if you go fishing in
the lake you will catch a fish every time. To the West there is a 3 litre gourd
hanging from a hut. Take it and fill it with water from the lake.
Go South and follow the narrow path to a cross with the carcass of a
Robinson. A Pterodactyl will attack. Kill it with the hatchet or spear and
retrieve a computer from the corpse. From the narrow path you should be able to
see a bison in the clearing below. Shoot it with the laser and head North to the
lake again. The remaining bison may charge around making the ground shake.
Ignore it for now. Take the bridge and return to the plain. Head West towards
the remaining bison. You should see the dead body of one bison in a clearing. As
you approach keep looking to the West for the remaining one. If you get too
close it will charge at you but you should have enough time to shoot it with the
laser. When it is dead you can take fur and meat if you need them. To the South
of the clearing you should find the dead body of Pythagoras 32. Take his
computer.
Go to the extreme Eastern side of the canyon. About half way there inject
yourself with some anti-venom serum as there are venomous spiders in the area.
Kill them if they approach.
EMPTY SYRINGE + BOTTLE OF SERUM = JAB OF ANTI- VENOM SERUM
In the far South East is the entrance to a cave. Put on your warmest clothes
and enter.
Follow the passage and take the second southward turn into a long cavern
inhabited by two tyrannosaurs. As you move south they will attack you. Kill them
with the hatchet. At the end of the cavern take the easternmost passage. Look at
the map. The passage forks into two - one leads to a dead end where you will
find a body with a computer which you should take, the other leads to a small
cavern. Here you will find water to fill your flasks and an epileptic turtle
which can be eaten, but it's heavy. When you have eaten the turtle its shell
makes a tough helmet which you will need later. Now use the knife to scrape
around 10 lots of salt from the walls - they weigh 100g each - and return to the
long cavern. Take the southern passage to find the exit to the desert. Careful!
The desert gets very hot by day (up to 50C) and very cold at night (down to 0C).
If it is daytime get ready to remove all your clothes and put on the leaf hat as
heatstroke and sunstroke take only seconds to develop at such a high
temperature. The salt, when eaten, reduces your rate of dehydration so you
should take some before leaving the cave. Now step into the desert.
Look at the map. There is a large clearing in the South West corner. Head
for this, but watch out for the large patches of quicksand. Save your position
before and after circumnavigating each patch as it is all too easy to fall in.
When you reach the clearing you will find Freud 37, who has gone insane in the
heat, running around. Kill him by whatever means necessary. It is probably best
to wait until he is walking directly away from or towards you then you should be
able to shoot him easily with the laser. From his body recover his computer and
spare battery, a distress pistol and some flares.
Look at the map again. There is a long clearing in the centre of the map
heading North which is just West of the cave entrance. Head for this and go as
far North as possible, always being careful of the quicksand. Walk West and you
should be attacked by some slow moving reptilian creatures. They aren't too
dangerous so kill them with the hatchet. If you haven't had enough reptile skins
to make a jacket and trousers now is the time to stock up. They will also
provide meat. To the South there are more creatures and a mirage which can be
safely ignored. To the West, in an alcove to the North, is the body of Descartes
122. Take his computer. Now return the way you came to the caves with the
tyrannosaurs, then to the canyon (remembering to inject anti-venom serum before
leaving the cave) then to the very cold caves, then to the jungle, then to the
caves populated by cavemen and then to the swamps (only enter in the daytime and
don't forget to take quinine).
Go to the village of the Amazons (make sure you're wearing the necklace).
You will have to take the southernmost route. Along the way are some carnivorous
plants with venomous bites. Inject anti-venom serum and take the route. Kill the
plants if necessary to pass. At the far West end turn North and continue until
you meet the tribe leader. She asks you to kill Kagoo.
Turn to face South and wait until nightfall. Save your position. Kagoo will
appear in the distance running towards you. Quickly fire the distress pistol
(from the USE menu, not the FIGHT menu). A few seconds later the sky will light
up, paralysing Kagoo. Run forward and hack at him with the hatchet. Watch out -
he's very tough and the flare may burn out before you kill him so fire another
after about 10-20 seconds. If you take too long and the flare goes out before a
new one lights Kagoo will attack you again - one bite and you're dead. When he's
dead you can take meat from him.
Return to the tribe leader. She provides you with a halogen lamp and a kiss.
Just to the East is a stegosaurus. By clicking your flask on its udders you can
obtain milk. Now go South and then head East at the bottom. Half way along the
route you will encounter Epicurus 92. He's not happy and he tries to stab you.
Kill him and take his computer with spare battery and a bottle of whisky. Whisky
helps you to withstand very cold conditions but don't use it all just yet.
Head to the far South East corner of the swamp. A little way North, to the
East you will find a cave entrance. Enter.
This is the cave with the two tyrannosaurs, but a different section. Follow
the passage to a large cavern. Amid the bones you will find the computer of
Theophrastus 57. Take it and go to the forest massif via the swamp, the cave
with the cavemen, the jungle and the cave with the now dead big monster.
Go to the clearing in the centre of the map where you set snares. Each one
should contain the dead body of one of the deer-like animals. Take some for meat
if you need it. No return to the main clearing then go North then East to the
lake. On the northern shore you should find a raft. Wade in and climb aboard.
Head East until you pass under a bridge. To the East there are artichokes on
the shore which are edible. Return to the bridge and head South. Negotiate your
way through the land banks and then East into a large open expanse of water. At
the far side you will find a cave entrance. Put on your warmest clothes and take
a shot of whisky then head inside.
Follow the passage to a fork. Take the westernmost passage and follow it to
a large cave. Get off the raft and use the knife to cut 1 lot of sulphur from
the walls. If you have a cold or haven't had much sleep or food, now is a good
time to light a fire, eat some warm food and get some sleep, there's a hard slog
ahead.
Get back on the raft and paddle back to the fork. Now take the northeastern
passage. Follow it round until you come to a waterfall but stop before you go
over the edge. Put on your reptile skin jacket and trousers, light the halogen
lamp, put out the torch and take a shot of whisky if you've sobered-up. Now
paddle over the edge.
On the other side swim or paddle (if you still have the raft) to the
northern exit. Climb ashore and put your furs back on. You will probably have
flu by now so take some antibiotics. Look at the map. The passage leads round to
a small cavern - you don't need to go in and you'll get an unnecessary
clobbering if you do - at the junction is a giant who you may not see at first,
but don't let him sneak up on you from behind. Before you set off put on the
tortoise shell helmet. These giants are very nasty. They hit you with truncheons
which will break your arms and they will kill you if you don't wear the helmet.
Make a couple of splints now while you have a minute. These can be applied when
your arms get broken - put them on as soon as possible to prevent permanent
damage.
BRANCH + BANDAGE = SPLINT
Set off for the junction with the first cavern. Look around for the giant
and kill him with the hatchet, but it can take a while. Check your skeleton.
Apply splints to any broken limbs. If both arms are broken it may be wise to
light a fire (and a torch), eat and get some rest. When one or both of the arms
has healed (which could be a day or two) you can continue.Take a truncheon, they
are dangerous weapons but slow.
Look at the map again. There are many passages. You must visit the cave to
the North which contains more giants and the computer of Marx 49 which you must
collect, and the cave to the right of the one at the of the map which contains
charcoal which must be scraped from the walls with the knife. Now take any route
South which leads to the passage running East. Save your position.
At the end of this passage is a ledge from which you must jump into a pond.
Wait at the edge for a moment and you will be attacked by a pterodactyl (better
to fight it now than to be defenceless in the water). Kill it and cut some meat
if you need it. Light a fire a little way back from the edge and eat then sleep.
Then put on the reptile skin clothes, take a shot of whisky, light the halogen
lamp and jump of the edge into the pond. Another pterodactyl is in the area so
immediately swim for the passage to the North. Once on dry land turn and kill
the pterodactyl. Now follow the passage into a large cavern and take the
northern passage and exit into the canyon.
If it is hot, remove your clothes and put on the leaf hat. Your time spent
in the cold cave and swimming in subzero water will almost certainly have left
you with a cold so take some antibiotics. Go West as far as the clearing with
the two dead bison and a body then turn North and go under the bridge. Continue
until you see Nietsche 26 up ahead. Head towards him but stop a few feet away.
If you go up to him he will try to shoot you. He can be beaten to the draw but
why risk it? Just shoot him from here. From the body take his computer and spare
battery, some laser chargers and a gas mask. If you need to stock up on food go
to the lake above but you will have to fight with the locals again. If you have
enough room in your ruck sac you might like to take one of the 5Kg pumpkins from
near Nietsche's body. Now inject some anti-venom serum and head over to the cave
entrance in the far South East corner of the canyon, killing venomous spiders on
the way. Put on warm clothes and enter the cave.
Follow the passage and take the second turn to the South into the long
cavern. Go South killing two tyrannosaurs along the way and exit into the desert
via the southern exit. Look at the map. There is a large clearing in the
Northwestern corner. Go there being careful not to stray into the quicksand. On
entering you will see a sleeping triceratops. Don't get too near. First you must
make a molotov cocktail. Empty the whisky bottle (with the dustbin icon, not
your mouth).
SALTPETRE + CHARCOAL + SULPHUR + WHISKY BOTTLE + LIANA =
MOLOTOV COCKTAIL
Save your position. Now shoot at the triceratops with an arrow or laser. It
will start to run towards you. Immediately throw the molotov cocktail. It should
land on the triceratops, explode and kill it. If you time it incorrectly, reload
and try again.
Having killed it, go North across the clearing and you should find the
remains of your ship's cockpit. Take a battery from the wreckage. The battery
weighs 10Kg so you may have to discard some items from your ruck sac. To the
East of the clearing there is an edible mushroom if you need some food,
otherwise go to the clearing at the centre of the map which is South of the cave
entrance. You must make a booby trap from the battery for later. Put on the
kevlar gloves before you start and never take them off whilst you are holding
the booby trapped battery or you will be electrocuted.
WIRE + BATTERY = BOOBY TRAPPED BATTERY
Now look at the map again. There is a vague pathway going North East, then
East, then zigzagging South and then heading East to a long clearing which runs
North. Follow this path. You will encounter two or three droids which can be
destroyed with two or three laser shots each. Aim for the red light on the top.
At the bottom of the long clearing which runs North you should get ready
with the booby trapped battery. Walk North cautiously until you see a very large
robot. It is possible to crawl past on the western side but you have the
battery. Walk towards the robot until it starts walking towards you. Put the
booby trapped battery on the ground and step back a few paces. The robot will
walk onto the battery and will be electrocuted. Continue North. You will see
some lava flows. Walk westward round their southern edges (you will die on
contact with the lava) and then head North to a cave entrance. Put on the gas
mask and take off all your clothes except the leaf hat, it's 40C in there.
Follow the long passage to a cavern in the southeastern corner of the map.
You will encounter two droids which must be destroyed with the laser. In the
cavern you will find the body of Abelard 39. Take from it the computer and a
heavy fusion laser. This is very powerful and has infinite shots. Go back North
up the passage until you meet a West turn. Turn into this and you will be
confronted with a cavern filled with walking droids. Destroy these one at a time
with the fusion laser, aiming for the red lights. Be careful! The floor is
scattered with pockets of lava. When they have all been destroyed (which takes
some time) take the western exit and follow the passage.
The first turn to the East is a dead end guarded by a droid which must be
destroyed with the fusion laser, the second leads round to the exit. It will not
open yet but you must memorise its location on the map. It is also guarded by a
cat-like droid which will kill you with one bite and must be destroyed. Return
to the main passage and continue North. You will enter a long cavern which runs
South. It is guarded by two more cat-like droids. Destroy them and head South
then turn East into another long cavern which runs North. This is guarded by a
cat-like droid and some flying droids. These must all be destroyed. The flying
droids shoot at you with lasers which can break limbs or kill you. Two lava
streams cross the floor and you must weave around the ends of them to get past.
At the northern end there is a cavern which contains the computer of Nina 1.
Take the computer and return to the main cavern with the lava pools and many
walking robots. Now take the northern exit which leads to a cavern with five
flying droids which should be destroyed. The cave should now be clear of robots.
Locate a machine in the room which has a horizontal slit in the top.
Check the map. Make sure you have memorised the location of the exit and
will know which route to take. Now place all the computers you have collected
into the machine one at a time. Light a fire, eat, sleep, drink and take any
medicines necessary. Now save your position - it's the last chance you'll get.
Remove your computer from your chest and place it in the machine. An alarm
will sound. The droid HQ is set to self destruct. You now have no access to the
map, the medicomputer or the game functions. The alarm and beeping timer suggest
there is a time limit but it seems to be a very long one so don't rush.
Carefully make your way into the lava pool cavern and through to the western
passage then follow the passage to the exit (the second East turn). As you
approach the exit doors they will open and you can leave the planet. Well done,
cheat! You've finished Robinson's Requiem!
