  1. üEDITORIALÇ

  3. On  Friday,  Januari  16th I had a phonecall with the  people  of 
  4. Commedia  (remember?  They are one of the shops in  Holland  that 
  5. offer the newest software around!),  when they suggested making a 
  6. seperate version of üST NEWSÇ that would contain the best  articles 
  7. that  had  appeared in Volume 1 of üST NEWSÇ (that were  6  issues, 
  8. with a total of 374 pages).
  9. That evening, I starting working on the concept immediately and I 
  10. also thought about a name.  After a while of thinking,  I came to 
  11. "The  üST  NEWS  ÇVolume  1  Compendium".  Basically,  making  this 
  12. Compendium  took  no  longer than one  day,  but  I  struck  some 
  13. difficulties with the program, that I was still actually adapting 
  14. for üST NEWSÇ Volume 1 Issue 2, that should be ready no sooner than 
  15. the  end  of  Februari!  Many routines had not  yet  been  tested 
  16. thoroughly and it therefore still may be that errors or bugs  are 
  17. hidden somewhere deep in the program.  Many of the previous  bugs 
  18. are disposed of, however, but we still had to use maxi-format! If 
  19. you  want to copy this Compendium,  you should use  the  built-in 
  20. copy option or another program that can copy protected disks  (80 
  21. tracks of 10 sectors).

  23. Some of the articles needed updating, sensoring (especially those 
  24. taken from the first two issues!) and correcting (I did  discover 
  25. some  crazy grammatical English errors!).  All programs were  re-
  26. tested and SAVEd in the new version of GfA Basic (version 2.0) as 
  27. far as they had been written in V1.0 of this Basic version.
  28. The  'picture' option could this time not be included,  as  there 
  29. was not enough room on this disk (not even when  maxi-formatted). 
  30. I  hope to please everyone who thought üST NEWSÇ was a  bit  clumsy 
  31. during the Volume 1 Issues, by launching this Compendium version. 
  32. Although  I  have taken much care to adapt the articles  so  that 
  33. they don't 'branch' to other,  not included,  articles,  it might 
  34. still occur. I'm sorry for that!
