  3. It  has been a period of many launches since we've  launched  the 
  4. previous  issue of üST NEWSÇ.  Many commercial programs,  but  also 
  5. superb PD software. I have recently significantly reorganised our 
  6. PD library,  so it's now only possible to order PD on  pre-filled 
  7. disks,  as in regular PD libraries.  It remain free of additional 
  8. costs,  however. Please refer to the end of this article for more 
  9. info about ordering and post costs.
  10.  
  11. In the following list of PD software,  the following  conventions 
  12. are used with regard to program remarks:

  23. - The Artist V1.1a (∙)
  24. A superb monochrome drawing program from master programmer Stefan 
  25. Posthuma,  written  in GfA Basic.  It enables  multiple  advanced 
  26. block  operations and many more or less useful options.  See  our 
  27. review in üST NEWSÇ Volume 2 Issue 2.

  29. - Shiny Bubbles (°)
  30. A  very cute demo of animating balls in 3D.  It works  better  on 
  31. megabyte machines, tough.

  33. - Activision ST Demo (°)
  34. In the very beginning of the ST,  Activision and Audio Light made 
  35. a  nice ST demo,  in which they didn't only advertise for the  ST 
  36. itself,  but also for The Music Studio and N-Vision.  It features 
  37. nice music and good graphics.

  39. - Paradox ST Demo (°†)
  40. This is the demo from ST Karate,  Fireblaster, Warzone, Protector 
  41. and Space Station (slide show),  together with a real game called 
  42. Haunted House.  Very nice,  and the music is MIDI compatible. The 
  43. program includes a copier.

  45. - ST Forth (∙)
  46. A  Dutch Forth implementation for the ST,  supplied with a  Dutch 
  47. usermanual on disk.  For specific info about Forth,  please refer 
  48. to our Forth Course starting in üST NEWSÇ Volume 2 Issue 3.

  50. - Randomize Picture Show I (°)
  51. Our friends from the International Cracking Group made this  very 
  52. original   slode  show  with  several   self-drawn   Degas-format 
  53. pictures.

  56.  Music Construction Set (∙), a sound programming tool.
  57.  Moving Figures (∙), a animation design tool by the same guy.
  58.  Speedwriter V1.0 (∙), an interactive way of writing letters.
  59.  Black (∙), a program that takes care that your screen doesn't
  60.              burn into your monitor.
  61.  Fujiboink (°), a fantastic bouncing Atari sign demo (!!).
  62.  SPMod (∙°), the program for the article on speech in üST NEWSÇ
  63.               Volume 2 Issue 3, also able to speak for itself.

  68.  Neofun (°), a way to have fun with Neochrome pictures.
  69.  512 Colors (°), 512 colors at once on the screen.
  70.  Balldemo (°), the notorious bouncing ball demo.

  72.  Lowdemo (°), a nice color demo from Sweden.
  73.  Popcorn (°), have you ever seen many bouncing balls?
  74.  Superbox (°), just a nice color demo.
  75.  Windpic (°), enables you to load many pictures in windows.

  78. - Puzzle Puzzle (∙)
  79. A  swell puzzle product from Tommy Software.  Try to complete  it 
  80. and you'll know how good it is!

  82. - ST NEWS Volume 1 Issues 1-4 (°∙)
  83. Yes, you read it well! Our old vintage issues have been re-issued 
  84. (uncensored and with all the old errors still in it).  A must for 
  85. the collector! Not suited for software developers!

  88. Our fifth issue to be launched in 1986...

  90. The last word processor issue of üST NEWSÇ, and also the last to be

  186. Very naughty (nasty?) picture show.  Definately X-Rated,  so  the 
  187. software  selection doesn't think this one's suitable for  kiddos 
  188. under 18 years of age!

  191. Extremely  beautiful picture show,  which does include some  nude 
  192. but is very well programmed as well as very well  digitised!  See

  195. - Smoothtalker Demo (°)
  196. First  Byte's revolutionary speech technology  demo,  which  also 
  197. allows the user to type in own words/numbers. Truly amazing! This 
  198. demo also works on monochrome, but not perfectly!
  199. - Aladin Demo (ϕ∙*)
  200. Finally  it's  there  - the demo  program  from  ProfiComp's  new 
  201. MacIntosh enhancer. Very nicely programmed slideshow with amazing 
  202. text effects!

  204. - Goldrunner demo (°)
  205. Microdeal's  new shoot-'em-up program demo,  featuring  excellent 
  206. music, and superb scrolling/graphics. The music can also be heard 
  207. on monochrome, but in that case the graphics won't work!
  208. Addition on the disk:  A disk library program in GfA  Basic,  for 
  209. monochrome only.

  212. The  first  half-meg digidemo (also works on 1 Meg).  Features  a 
  213. piece of "A-Ha" and Jean Michel Jarre's "Equinoxe".  A bit short, 
  214. though.

  217.  ARC, the file archiver (∙), a file crunching & archiving tool.
  218.  Reset Resistant RAMdisk (∙°), including source and documents.
  219.  Turbo Nibbler (∙), copy program for protected software.
  220.  Little Sound Demo (°), super duper sound demo from Germany.
  221. - Compilation Disk #6
  222.  68000 Assembler (∙),  the assembler to be used with the assembly 
  223.  language  course from the German magazine "ST Computer".  It  is 
  224.  supplied with a German user manual on disk.
  225.  Deluxe Fontmaster (∙),  a superb utility to print out  documents 
  226.  using   different fonts (that can be made  with  this  program). 
  227.  Allows use of proportional characters as well (German).

  229. - MTV Demo (°ϕ*)
  230. A  fantastic new digitized sound demo featuring an  excerpt  from 
  231. Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing".
  232.  
  233. - The Arkanoid Construction Kit (°*)
  234. The most original PD programming concept ever seen! Make your own 
  235. levels for the game "Arkanoid" (which you must have to be able to 
  236. work  with this offering) with this versatile  editor.  Over  100 
  237. ready  levels supplied on the disk,  the longest  scrolling  ever 
  238. seen  and  a  nice music hack makes this  PD  product  stand  out 
  239. amongst others!

  243. - Compilation Disk #7
  244. The  only  program that was supplied on this disk at  the  moment 
  245. this  issue of üST NEWSÇ was published was "Sound demo",  the  demo 
  246. from the winning music program from the "ST Computer" contest. It 
  247. works only on color monitors. It might very well be that there is 
  248. more  on this disk when you order it - some hot  new  stuff.  Let 
  249. yourself be surprised!

  251. To  order  any  of the above mentioned  disks,  please  send  the 
  252. correct  amount of disks in an envelope,  together with a  return 
  253. envelope,  to:  üST NEWSÇ,  Kievitstraat 50,  5702 LE, Helmond, The 
  254. Netherlands. Don't forget to put enough stamps on it (uncorrectly 
  255. stamped packages,  resulting in postage costs for üST  NEWSÇ,  will 
  256. not  be treated and sent back immediately - unopened)  and  don't 
  257. forget  to  enclose  return  postage  either  (according  to  the 
  258. following table - see next page):

  272. If you live outside the EEC, please enclose the correct number of 
  273. International  Reply Coupons (IRCs) and add three extra!  If  you 
  274. live  in  Belgium,  West Germany or England,  it is  possible  to 
  275. enclose an amount of money in the envelope,  but I'd rather  have 
  276. IRCs!  In  Holland,  enclosing money instead of stamps will  also 
  277. work  (although I dont' prefer it to stamps).  The above list  is 
  278. for  disks with a normal padded envelope included in the  weight. 
  279. If  you include money in the package,  please be sure to pack  it 
  280. firmly, since it if officially not allowed to send money by mail!
