  4.  Good day and a sincerely warm welcome to "ST NEWS" Volume 8 Issue 2, the 
  5. second 1993 issue,  the eighth Undead One an the 35th in total. As usual, 
  6. it was finished.  This time this mysterious and almost sacred ritual took 
  7. place on October 23rd 1993. It was hard to do, what with me now having to 
  8. do even more things all on my own lonesome now (am I not pitiable?).
  9.  Nonetheless, I hope you'll enjoy reading this issue's contents and using 
  10. the  programs  that come with it (which are this a time a bit  more  than 
  11. usual, even).
  12.  Below you will find some more details concerning this issue (like how to 
  13. copy it and what's in it).

  26. - THE FEATURES.TOS FILE -------------------------------------------------

  29.   This issue's PROGRAMS folder is entirely contained in the  FEATURES.TOS 
  30. file,  which  is  a  so-called self-extracting  archive.  To  create  the 
  31. PROGRAMS  folder,  all you need to do is copy the FEATURES.TOS file to  a 
  32. disk with plenty of free space (or,  for example,  a hard disk) and click 
  33. on  it.  It will decompress itself into the PROGRAMS folder with all  the 
  34. proper files in it.  A text file called "WOTSERE.TXT" contains the basics 
  35. about the programs featured here.
  36.  Using this method was necessary for all stuff to fit on the disk at all.

  39. - NOTE ABOUT COPYING ----------------------------------------------------

  42.  I will be brief.  Just like the 34 prior issues,  "ST NEWS" is about  as 
  43. Public Domain as you can get.  Spread it,  copy it,  sell it (as cheap as 
  44. possible),  I don't mind. It is important that as many people as possible 
  45. get  this issue,  so give it to a friend for his/her  birthday!  In  case 
  46. you're the owner of a Public Domain library,  you are much encouraged  to 
  47. include it in that. We need no royalties. This is no licenseware.
  48.  The disk format is:
  49.  
  50.  Tracks            : 0-79
  51.  Sectors per track : 11
  52.  Number of sides   : 2
  53.  
  54.  You  can  copy  it  with  just about  any  modern  disk  copier  (though 
  55. "FastCopy" would be a most excellent choice (free plug there)) as long as 
  56. it  supports 11 sectors per track.  The GEM desktop,  however,  can't  do 
  57. this! But anyway, it's not *how* you copy it that's important, as long as 
  58. you *do* copy it, possible in the *largest* numbers!
  59.  Be  wise and steer clear of expensive PD libraries.  And please  send  a 
  60. donation now and again if you've enjoyed our efforts. I have received one 
  61. donation (hi Marinos!) in the last three years or something.
