Hello, and welcome to the STOS section of ST+, which will now be known as the
STOS corner. I am Deano the official ST+ STOS editor and I will soon have my
very own ST+ T-shirt to prove it. I am in charge of all STOS related material
that goes into this section and I write some articles for it myself. However,
I need help from all you STOS users out there. In order to keep this section
and hopefully expand it I need you to send in your articles and tutorials, or
even reviews on STOS products. So please send any articles in ascii format so
I can edit them and put them in this section. Remember though, it must be STOS
related. You can send in a so many part of a tutorial on programming something
in STOS or just a general article on STOS. All disks sent in will be returned
with some software on it in return for your contributions. Reading this months
articles will give you some idea of what to write. I am hoping to start a STOS
problem page in this section so please send any STOS programming enquires to
me and when theres enough come in I will start the problem page. Also, if you
have any information you would like to share with our readers such as news of
a new extension then please send that in.
So, please send all STOS related articles, tutorials, problems, and news to
this address..........

Remember that all contributed documents must be on a disk in ascii format.
If you want to have any pictures displayed in your document then please design
them in medium rez and send them all pasted onto one degas PI2 picture for
each document. Leave some space in your document for them to appear and leave
a small message in the document where you want the picture to appear and which
one. Don't send any full screens but reasonable sized blocks....See other
documents in this diskzine.
Remember, your contributions and support are important, I don't want this
section to die like the STOSSER diskzine did.
Lets have a look what we have in the STOS CORNER this month.
EDITORIAL: Errm, thats this is'nt it.
SPACE INVADER TUTORIAL: Part one of writing a space invader clone.
PRESHIFTING: Cheating the ST's sixteen pixel boundary.
VARIBLES AND DIMENSIONS: The complete low down on them.
STACKING BANKS: How to get loads of files into one bank.
USEFUL ROUTINES: Some useful source to stick in your programs.
Please note that due to the amount of graphics in the Space Invader tutorial I
have had to split part one into three separate articles, each one continues
where the previous one left off.
If you would like the source code to accompany this tutorial, please forward 1
disk [prefferably with some PD on it...why send a blank disk :)] and s.s.a.e. to
my address above and I'll be happy to forward you all the relevant code.
Thats it for this month, a special thanks to Chris Swinson for sending in his
six part space invader tutorial. I'll be back next month with some more
interesting articles so till then......have fun.
