Main program this month is a chemistry tutorial / revision aid written in STOS by Chris Parker-Jones of Pontypool, Gwent. The disc autoboots straight into this, but the Basic listing is also provided in the SIDE_2 folder. The compiled version may not work on the STE, so boot up STOS on your STE, load the Basic listing and run that instead.
The main utility is BIGCOLOR, probably the best colour emulator for monochrome screens that we've seen and was written by Jon Dalton of London. He has also included the source code too. To use it you must copy BIGCOLOR.PRG into the AUTO folder of your boot disc - it must be the first program you put in there so that it is run before anything else.
README.PRG is a handy little utility that we use each month. It loads and displays ST Writer files in a nice Gem window.
SCROLLER.PRG loads and parallax scrolls the two pictures in the AUTO folder - PICTURE1.PI1 and PICTURE2.PI1.
In the SIDE_2 folder - only accessable to double sided disc drives - are the listings from this month's STOS programming article. (Sorry there's so much STOS but around 50% of all submissions are STOS!).
Also in the SIDE_2 folder is DSLIDE, a slide show utility that loads and displays Degas normal and compressed picture files, Neochrome and Tinystuffed pictures. Read the accompanying DOC file for more info on this.
