  3. If you are not sure how to save text as ASCII format or you don't 
  4. know what it is then read on-
  5.  
  6. Most word processors allow you to save a text file in ASCII 
  7. format.Ascii is a form of text that can be read by different 
  8. computer formats ( PC Atari Amiga etc ) and is a basic 
  9. internationally recognisable form of text that can be swapped 
  10. between different types of computers.ASCII is text in its most 
  11. basic form and it does not save style or layout data.
  12.      You can usually find a SAVE AS ASCII option in one of your 
  13. menus or if you are writing text on something like FIRSTWORD PLUS
  14. ( ATARI ) then all you have to do is to go up to EDIT in the 
  15. menu and turn the tick off next to WP MODE by clicking on it then 
  16. saving your text as e.g.   WORDTEXT.TXT     with the .TXT file 
  17. extension after the filename.
