  20. Welcome to Issue 23 of the Third Dimension disk magazine for 3D 
  21. Construction Kit 1 and 2 users on all computer formats.

  23. Disaster has struck at the last minute! Just two days before the 
  24. disk was due to go to Holland for conversion by Mieke,I placed the 
  25. disk into the drive and the computer erased everything whilst 
  26. copying a file.So I placed the backup into the drive and it 
  27. erased that also! Previously the computer (Atari) erased Peter 
  28. Ward's contribution disk (thanks for the backup disk Peter!) and 
  29. also six other important disks over the last month.So please 
  30. forgive me for the content as I have been working like a man 
  31. possessed to place something onto the disk for you.Next months 
  32. double disk should make up for this though!

  34. This month we have an updated OURTOWN  datafile and story mainly 
  35. thanks to Peter D Ward.There is also a textfile on 3D games,a 
  36. tutorial/ideas on game structures with accompanying files,an 
  37. updated FCL listing,the answers to last months quiz from 
  38. Mandy,letters,objects a preview screengrab of next months Helicopter 
  39. Simulation (see below),a default sample and keys listing,an animation 
  40. of a 3D room and much more!

  42. Thanks goes out to Terry brawls for creating a better version of 
  43. issue 22 than what I did.This really was an excellent effort but Mieke 
  44. is now going to carry on now that she has a new A1200 on board and 
  45. will continue with the CanDo version of the diskmag using the point 
  46. and click menu sytem.Thanks also to Mieke of course and to John 
  47. Clarke who has now created a new PC menu system which is a plug 
  48. and play/modular system allowing greater flexibility for that 
  49. version of the diskmag.

  51. Mike Olive has done it again! He managed to get all of the 
  52. answers to Mandy ( look new teeth! ) Rodrigues's Quiz correct so 
  53. well done Mike! Peter D Ward and Robin Ball have been given a 
  54. mention in Floppyshop's PD library update and Floppyshop have 
  55. placed yet another issue of our diskmag into their recommended 
  56. top 20 purchases,so thanks goes to Steve Delaney and Irene Lamb 
  57. at Floppyshop!

  59. The Amiga Computer show will be on at the Novotel Exhibition 
  60. Centre at Hammersmith,London on Saturday,April 13th and 
  61. Sunday,April 14th.Admission is £7 adults,£5.50 kids.

  63. few other members who will be attending.

  67. There is a competition this month for Amiga A1200 owners only.I am 
  68. sorry if you have another computer but the prize will only work 
  69. with this computer! The prize is a HARD DRIVE! Yes a hard 
  70. drive.This is a 80 meg (I think) unit that will suit anyone who 
  71. needs to install the full five workbench disks,add the 3D kit and 
  72. some other favourite programs too! So to win this all you have to 
  73. do is to send in a decent routine for the 3D kits.The drive was 
  74. donated by Dave Willmore to benefit a fellow Amiga users so 
  75. thanks goes out to dave.The winner will have to pay postage for 
  76. the above unit so get your contribution sent in now!!!!

  81. Next month will be our second birthday issue and it will be on 
  82. two disks so send in your contributions,game demo,3D files etc!
  83. To get the second disk you should send a decent blank
  84. disk with a reply paid envelope.Subscribers should just send a
  85. blank disk as this will go out with your usual monthly disk.
  86. Next months extra disk will have the full coding for a helicopter 
  87. simulation.You should be able to design a few areas and add all 
  88. the supplied conditions,add a few instruments and end up with a 
  89. great helicopter flight sim.All the conditions and procedures 
  90. will be in ASCII form so you can just load them straight into the 
  91. condition to save hours of typing.All the difficult coding has been 
  92. done for you! Full instructions will be included.For a sneak 
  93. preview take a look at the Helicopt.IFF file.The game has a 360 
  94. degree compass,heading and altitude indicators,ground/air horizon
  95. level bars,selectable weapons,speed indicators,area co-ordinates 
  96. and great sounds! Also on the disk will be game samples,borders,a 
  97. doom type game and lots more!

  99. So what has been happening at Tony Towers? Well I have been 
  100. playing infiltration by Robin Ball.This is a great game which is 
  101. just begging to be played.My phone line was broken (thanks BT) so 
  102. I lost my ground communicator for a while.It is now fixed at 
  103. last! I have been creating the helicopter simulator for the extra 
  104. disk for our next month birthday issue.The instruments are 
  105. amazing.I am working too on another new 3D game.I am also creating
  106. a multi media presentation system for the Amiga.

  109. If you are new to this diskmag then please note that you need 
  110. either 3D Construction kit 1 or 2 to be able to view the 
  111. datafiles on this disk.Details of where to get this is mentioned
  112. further below.To see what can be achieved why not purchase one of 
  113. the many disks listed in the Third dimension PD library section 
  114. that are available for all computer formats.Alternatively,try the 
  115. Amiga-VR-PIANO,VR-CITY,VR-DRUMS disk available from most good 
  116. Amiga PD libraries and the Third Dimension PD library.

  118. You should have at the very least,version 2.09 of 3D kit 2 for 
  119. the Atari and Amiga.PC users should have version 2.11.To find out 
  120. your kit version,load up kit 2 then look in the ABOUT pull down 
  121. menu.Mandy Rodrigues can supply you with the very latest version 
  122. providing that you send a SSAE and your old kit disk.Mandy can 
  123. also provide back issues of the kit newsletters at £2 each.
