  28. Being a registered Aladin V3.0 owner, I have got some mixed feelings about this.
  29. I like the Aladin, and would like to see support continued, but through a real
  30. distributor, with real support. If there is no way to find a distributor who
  31. is willing to market your product, I suppose a shareware solution with less
  32. support would be acceptable as a last resort. I would like to see new Aladin
  33. developments, and if this is the only way, then It's OK I suppose.
  34. I am also owner of the product That's Multyformat (if you mean that product
  35. with your Mac to Aladin converter) also known in the USA as the Discovery
  36. Cartridge.
  37. Please keep in mind that a lot of people at least have had confidence in your
  38. products; please provide an upgrade path for them.
  39. I don't have experience with sending shareware fees; within Europe, I suppose
  40. it won't be a problem. Just use your bank account number.

  57. I have had lotsa problems transferring binary files with Uniterm kermit, from
  58. a VAXCluster. The solution seems to be...SET FILE TYPE FIXED on the VAX
  59. (Kermit-32>) and BINARY on the ST. Both binary -> dozens of errors...

  61. I don't know why it works, but it does.

  124. Concerning the format of the form.dvi file:

  126. It is a great paper saver if you happen to use civilized
  127. paper sizes. The size is A5. Two A5 pages make one A4 sheet.
  128. (Napoleon thought this out:
  129. A0 has a surface of 1 m~2 and the ratio's are 1/sqrt(2)).
  130. With some experimenting you can probably also put two A5
  131. pages on a letter size page.

  176.         About a month ago, someone posted an article on replacement switches
  177. for the mouse made by Best Electronis(I believe.)  Could somebody send me some
  178. info on these.  My mouse is still working fine.  I am just getting tired of
  179. the noise complaints from the Hall Director :-).  The most important item I
  180. want to know are these new switches closer to those of the Macs.

  232.    What does the write-protect bit in the file attribute byte mean??

  234.    As most of you know there is a bit in the attribute byte that indicates
  235. READ-ONLY status when it's set.  This means that the file can't be written
  236. to, can't be renamed or deleted.
  237.  
  238.    BUT: I can change the time/date entry with Fgsdatim() (or whatever the
  239. GEMDOS function is called).  Is this a bug or a feature??  Or is it necessary
  240. to enable the desktop to retain the time/date stamp while copying read-only
  241. files?
  242.  
  243.    I can see advantages (for "make" type programs), but also some disadvan-
  244. tages. Comments invited.
