Title : Duke's Day Off
Filename : dayoff.map
Author : John Mooney
Email Address : jmooney@prolog.net
Other levels by me : canyon.zip - Dukematch 2-4 players
Background story : It's Duke's day off so he's heading to the bar.
Can ya guess what happens next? Yup, he stumbles
into another one of those pesky alien bases.
Day off or not, Duke's gotta take it out.
(okay I'm not a writer, so sue me).
Level Notes : Towards the end of building this level I made a
big boo-boo and ended up losing a huge explosion
in the sewers(it was REALLY cool too :() and a
nice looking ship for Duke to start out in. I just
wanted to get this thing done so I didnt redo all
of that work. Maybe I will fix it in the future.
I also tried to make this map at a medium
difficulty. Its not a cakewalk, but its not
impossible either.
I even came up with some par times:
Par - 4:45
My best - 1:48
For Dukematch try playing it with respawning items,
monsters on, and difficulty set to Damn I'm Good.
Mmmmm.... Violence...
Additional Credits to : 3dRealms for making Duke, and being cool enough to
give us all Build.

* Construction *
Base : New level from scratch
Completion time : 10-12 hours for the level, 2-3 more to add monsters
and tweaks for DM, and a few hours of playtesting.
Editor used : BUILD
Known Bugs : Flying up the pipebomb shafts doesnt look right,
that's because your not meant to. The only reason
I didnt block them off with oneway sprites is
because I was killed in a very sneaky way involving
someone flying up the chute and a holoduke. I
thought it was cool enough to not block up the
chutes(and I'm too lazy to make them look perfect).
Also concerning the pipebomb chutes, you have to be
standing really close to the wall to be able to
throw a pipebomb in.
