**** BETA TEST VERSION ****
FANTEST.CHN is a small utility to be used in conjunction with FANSTART to
determine the available TPA and select which version of FF11nCDE.CHN will
function as your system is currently configured.
Have FANSTART.COM; FANTEST.CHN; FF11CDE.CHN; FF11SCDE.CHN & FF11MCDE.CHN
on the same drive.
enter:
FANSTART<CR>
and reply to the Prompt with
FANTEST<CR>
FANTEST will find and display the highest unprotected address of TPA
and select among FF11nCDE.CHN files to chain to the LARGEST useable file.
FF11CDE.CHN uses TPA to C900h; all features.
FF11SCDE.CHN uses TPA to C200h; all features except 99 lines/page
FF11MCDE.CHN uses TPA to BA00h; all features except 99 l/p and max of 136 CPL.
FF11MCDE.CHN the "Minimal" version of FANFOLD has an additional feature,
"Carry-over" in the pre-format menu. After selecting a linelength, you may
chose to carry-over a line longer than that linelength to a separate new
line. The carry-over text will be indented 3 spaces. In the normal mode,
even without FILL or JUSTIFY, the over length is appended to the beginning
of the next line. On the other hand, carry-over will preserve the text on
a separate line.
Example:
1....source text line...to column 78
2....next source text line to 60
linelength set to 60 & carry-over:
1..source text line to 60..
18 chars..
2....next source text to 60
Useful when, for example, source text is line numbered but you wish to use
2 column mode with a smaller linelength. If carry-over is selected FILL and
JUSTIFY are set to FALSE.
