FIGURE 49.2-1. MR and CT images of simultaneous epidural compression
in the lumbar and thoracic spine. (A) An asymptomatic epidural lesion
at L4 was discovered on follow-up CT of the abdomen in a 9-year-old
boy with recurrent neuroblastoma. (B) Careful review of the study
raised suspicion of a second site of epidural compression at T-8. (C)
MR of the spine confirmed the presence of the second lesion in the
thoracic spine, and clearly identified an associated paraspinous mass.
(D) A complete response was achieved following administration of 21 Gy
of radiation.
