  47. The PLAYCD program allows you to play audio compact discs; however, you will 
  48. need external speakers or headphones to listen to the disc.  PLAYCD is able to 
  49. accept both keyboard and mouse input. 
  50.  
  51.  At run time, PLAYCD will recognize any CD/ROM drives which currently contain a 
  52. valid CD/ROM, allowing you to control and play any or all of these drives. 
  53. Once a drive is recognized, you may freely change or remove discs from the 
  54. drive without notifying the program.  Discs will continue playing even when you 
  55. exit PLAYCD.

  57. For help on any function, select the button and press F1.

  62. The Commands Menu allows the user to select any of a set of special commands.

  80. The Next Drive command is used to select the next recognized CD/ROM drive. 
  81. When selected, the focus of PLAYCD control panel changes from the current 
  82. CD/ROM drive to the CD/ROM drive with the next higher logical drive letter (C, 
  83. D, E, ...).  If there are no other CD/ROM drives, the focus remains on the 
  84. current drive.

  89. The Random Play command causes the current CD/ROM drive to begin playing tracks 
  90. at random.  Until another command or button is selected, the drive will select 
  91. tracks at random, playing each track completely before selecting the next 
  92. track.

  260. Pressing the Track Up button will cause the current CD/ROM drive to immediately 
  261. advance to the beginning of the next audio track.  If the drive is playing, it 
  262. will continue playing at the start of the next track.  If you use Track Up when 
  263. in the last audio track, the drive moves to the start of the first (lowest) 
  264. audio track.

  269. Pressing the Track Down button will cause the current CD/ROM drive to 
  270. immediately move to the beginning of the previous audio track.  If the drive is 
  271. playing, it will continue playing at the start of the previous track.  If you 
  272. use Track Down when in the first audio track, the drive moves to the start of 
  273. the last (highest) audio track.

  278. Pressing the Pause button will cause the current CD/ROM drive to toggle between 
  279. pausing and playing. If the current drive is playing, pressing Pause will cause 
  280. playing to stop at the current location, putting it in a paused state.  If the 
  281. current drive is paused, pressing Pause again will resume playing. Pressing any 
  282. other key while the drive is paused will cancel the Pause.  Pressing Pause when 
  283. in any other state (i.e. stopped, not ready) will have no effect.

  288. Pressing the Mute button will cause the volume of current CD/ROM drive to 
  289. toggle between its current value and zero (no sound).  If the current drive is 
  290. playing, it will continue playing.  If the Volume Control is used while  Mute 
  291. is active, Mute is made inactive.

  296. The Rewind button is used to move the position of the head on the current drive 
  297. quickly backward.  If the drive is playing, pressing the Rewind button will 
  298. move halt playing and move the head in reverse until the button is released. 
  299. Once released, the drive will resume playing at the new location.  If the drive 
  300. is stopped, pressing the Rewind button will start the head moving in reverse 
  301. until it reaches the beginning of the disc, or until another button is pressed.

  306. The Fast Forward button is used to move the position of the head on the current 
  307. drive quickly forward.  If the drive is playing, pressing the Fast Forward 
  308. button will move halt playing and move the head forward until the button is 
  309. released.  Once released, the drive will resume playing at the new location. 
  310. If the drive is stopped, pressing the Fast Forward will start the head moving 
  311. forward until it reaches the end of the disc, or until another button is 
  312. pressed.

  317. The Next Drive button is used to select the next recognized CD/ROM drive.  When

  326. The Volume Slider control is used to set the volume of the sound produced by 
  327. the current CD/ROM drive.  By dragging the slider up and down using the mouse, 
  328. or using the PageUp and PageDown keys, the volume can be increased and 
  329. decreased.  On some CD/ROM drives which lack software volume control, the 
  330. Volume Slider will not change the sound level until the lowest setting, when 
  331. the sound will be muted.

  336. Moves to the track you specify.  If an invalid track number is entered, it will 
  337. be ignored.
