ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Extended Help for PLAYCD ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The PLAYCD program allows you to play audio compact discs; however, you will
need external speakers or headphones to listen to the disc. PLAYCD is able to
accept both keyboard and mouse input.
At run time, PLAYCD will recognize any CD/ROM drives which currently contain a
valid CD/ROM, allowing you to control and play any or all of these drives.
Once a drive is recognized, you may freely change or remove discs from the
drive without notifying the program. Discs will continue playing even when you
exit PLAYCD.
For help on any function, select the button and press F1.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Help for Commands ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Commands Menu allows the user to select any of a set of special commands.
The available commands include:

Stop All and Exit

Exit
Exit the program without stopping any drives.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Help for Next Drive command ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Next Drive command is used to select the next recognized CD/ROM drive.
When selected, the focus of PLAYCD control panel changes from the current
CD/ROM drive to the CD/ROM drive with the next higher logical drive letter (C,
D, E, ...). If there are no other CD/ROM drives, the focus remains on the
current drive.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. Help for Random Play command ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Random Play command causes the current CD/ROM drive to begin playing tracks
at random. Until another command or button is selected, the drive will select
tracks at random, playing each track completely before selecting the next
track.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 10. Help for Stop All and Exit command ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Stop All and Exit command causes PLAYCD to stop all drives that may have
been playing, and then to terminate the program.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 11. Help for Exiting PLAYCD ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 13. Help for Eject Button ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Pressing the Eject button will cause the current CD/ROM drive to immediately
eject its disc. If the drive is playing, it will be stopped and the disc will
be ejected.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 14. Help for Stop Button ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Pressing the Stop button will cause the current CD/ROM drive to immediately
stop playing. Once stopped, playing may be resumed by pressing Play. Stop has
no effect if the drive is not playing.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 15. Help for Play Button ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Pressing the Play button will cause the current CD/ROM drive to begin playing
the current location on the disc. Play has no effect if the drive is not
ready, or is already playing.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 16. Help for Track Up ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Pressing the Track Up button will cause the current CD/ROM drive to immediately
advance to the beginning of the next audio track. If the drive is playing, it
will continue playing at the start of the next track. If you use Track Up when
in the last audio track, the drive moves to the start of the first (lowest)
audio track.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 17. Help for Track Down ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Pressing the Track Down button will cause the current CD/ROM drive to
immediately move to the beginning of the previous audio track. If the drive is
playing, it will continue playing at the start of the previous track. If you
use Track Down when in the first audio track, the drive moves to the start of
the last (highest) audio track.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 18. Help for Pause ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Pressing the Pause button will cause the current CD/ROM drive to toggle between
pausing and playing. If the current drive is playing, pressing Pause will cause
playing to stop at the current location, putting it in a paused state. If the
current drive is paused, pressing Pause again will resume playing. Pressing any
other key while the drive is paused will cancel the Pause. Pressing Pause when
in any other state (i.e. stopped, not ready) will have no effect.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 19. Help for Mute ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Pressing the Mute button will cause the volume of current CD/ROM drive to
toggle between its current value and zero (no sound). If the current drive is
playing, it will continue playing. If the Volume Control is used while Mute
is active, Mute is made inactive.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 20. Help for Rewind ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Rewind button is used to move the position of the head on the current drive
quickly backward. If the drive is playing, pressing the Rewind button will
move halt playing and move the head in reverse until the button is released.
Once released, the drive will resume playing at the new location. If the drive
is stopped, pressing the Rewind button will start the head moving in reverse
until it reaches the beginning of the disc, or until another button is pressed.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 21. Help for Fast Forward ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Fast Forward button is used to move the position of the head on the current
drive quickly forward. If the drive is playing, pressing the Fast Forward
button will move halt playing and move the head forward until the button is
released. Once released, the drive will resume playing at the new location.
If the drive is stopped, pressing the Fast Forward will start the head moving
forward until it reaches the end of the disc, or until another button is
pressed.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 22. Help for Next Drive ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Next Drive button is used to select the next recognized CD/ROM drive. When
pressed, the focus of PLAYCD control panel changes from the current CD/ROM
drive to the CD/ROM drive with the next higher logical drive letter (C, D, E,
...). If there are no other CD/ROM drives, the focus remains on the current
drive.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 23. Help for Volume Slider ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Volume Slider control is used to set the volume of the sound produced by
the current CD/ROM drive. By dragging the slider up and down using the mouse,
or using the PageUp and PageDown keys, the volume can be increased and
decreased. On some CD/ROM drives which lack software volume control, the
Volume Slider will not change the sound level until the lowest setting, when
the sound will be muted.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 24. Help for Track ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Moves to the track you specify. If an invalid track number is entered, it will
be ignored.
