  4. Thank you for your interest in ATS for OS/2 ver. 2.0b!!

  6. ATS for OS/2 is a robust, full featured job scheduler that brings to the
  7. OS/2 environment the power of host based production job schedulers.
  8.  
  9. ATS allows you to create true job streams by defining dependencies for a 
  10. particular task. Each task can be dependent upon any number/combination of
  11. the following: the completion of another scheduled task, the modification
  12. of a file, or a signal that is sent to the scheduler from outside program.
  13.  
  14. ATS allows you to define what days of the week a job can run, what days of
  15. the month a job can run, what time of day a job can run, what months the 
  16. job can run in, and whether the job can run on a holiday or not.

  18. If you have scheduling requirements that go beyond running a particular
  19. program at a specific time of day, then ATS is for you!
  20.  
  21. There is but one restriction to this version as compared to the retail
  22. version. This demonstration version only allows you to schedule a maximum
  23. of four (4) tasks. The retail version allows tou to define an unlimitied 
  24. number.

  44. The future of ATS for OS/2
  45.  
  46. The next version, ATS for OS/2 version 3.0, is currently under 
  47. development. In addition to all of the features that are in the 
  48. current version, the next version will include the following: 
  49.  
  50. *    user configurable job queues 
  51. *    saving and restoring the current ATS status between ATS sessions
  52. *    setting and resetting the status of an event globally or for a 
  53.     particular task as well as all events for a given task
  54. *    passing of  variable parameters to a scheduled task including date, time,
  55.     day of week, holiday indicator and task id
  56. *    start DOS and Windows programs
  57. *    create recurring holidays (i.e. January 1st is a holiday every year)
  58. *    new event types: Periodic (triggered automatically on a given time 
  59.     interval) and File Missing
  60. *    limiting the number of times a particular task is submitted within a 
  61.     given time frame
  62. *    scheduling a task from an external interface
  63. *    ability to set the priority of any scheduled job
  64. *    additional reports
  65. *    user defined valid business days
  66. *    suppression of all logging activity
  67. *    the ability to copy a defined to task to a new one
  68. *    add entries to the ATS log from your own program or the command line
  69. *    stop ATS from the command line

  71. Although we have not set a firm date for the availability of the next 
  72. release, we are looking towards the end of the fourth quarter of 1993.
