  1. This is the final 0.11 release! The differences to the pre-release as of
  2. 12-Sep-91 are minor, namely a working audio beep and a changed PID
  3. (removed beta indicator). PLEASE REPLACE/DELETE THE OLD RELEASE!

  6. Installation
  7. ============
  8.  
  9. 1.  BACKUP YOUR OLD CE EXECUTABLE & CONFIG FILE!
  10. 2.  Overwrite it with the new executable. There is a new icon, be sure
  11.     to adapt the tool types if you use the new one.
  12. 3.  Copy or drag Chameleon.library to your LIBS: directory.
  13. 4.  Start CE and remove all offending config verbs from your "CE.Cfg"
  14.     (or comment them out). The ROT verbs are vanished, some others I
  15.     don't remember at hand, too.
  16. 5.  Incoporate the new config commands into your old config file. There
  17.     is a sample config file for your inspiration. DON'T USE THE SAMPLE
  18.     CONFIG FILE, JUST COPY LINES FROM IT!

  21. Quick Guide to the New Toys
  22. ===========================

  24. - Areas with new msgs are highlighted in the areas menu.
  25. - The "Next Area" item now jumps to the next area WITH NEW MAIL.
  26. - If you insert the "NodeList Path" and "MsgHeader Verbose" statements,
  27.   the system name and city of the sending system (in netmail also for
  28.   the receiving system) are shown after the respective name. A "!" after
  29.   the node address indicates that the addressee is the sysop of that
  30.   system.
  31. - Some new menu items, some new shortcuts for old items. Most are self-
  32.   explanatory.
  33. - "Archive As..." allows to archive to any file.
  34. - "Rescan All" is the same as "Rescan Area" PLUS that it refreshes the high-
  35.   lighting of area names (use that after imports). The "External" command
  36.   has as related new option named "ReScan".
  37. - Make sure that the "Interlace" verb precedes the "ScreenSize" verb.
  38. - If you use a font other than 8x8, make sure that you say "FastText Off".
  39.   If you don't, may the guru visit you!
  40. - The ghosted menu items are ghosted 'cause they aren't implemented.
  41. - If you have "Paragraphs On", then be sure to indent pre-formatted
  42.   material when writing a msg. Otherwise, your msg will be garbled!

  48. - OMMM is not yet supported (correct f'reqs / attaches from within CE)
  49. - MSGIDs are generated, but REPLYs are not.
  50. - No real REXX support (yet).
