  2. Installing GRn.
  3.  
  4. These instructions assume that you already have Matt Dillon's AmigaUUCP
  5. installed. Alternately, you may have C-News installed. However, GRn does
  6. obtain significant configuration information from Dillon's "uulib:config"
  7. if all environment variables are not set.
  8.  
  9. The following instructions assume that AmigaUUCP is installed.
  10.  
  11. 1)  Unarchive the archive
  12.  
  13. 2)  CD to the archive directory in the CLI
  14.  
  15. 3)  Enter the following command from the CLI:
  16.  
  17.                 copy font fonts: all clone
  18.  
  19. 4)  Enter the following commands from the CLI:
  20.  
  21.                 copy GRn UUCP:C clone
  22.                 copy GRn.info UUCP:C clone
  23.  
  24. 5)  Enter the following commands from the CLI:
  25.  
  26.                 copy GRn.man uuman:grn.man clone
  27.                 copy GRn.doc uuman:grn.doc clone
  28.  
  29. 6)  Ensure that your stack is AT LEAST 32K by entering the following command
  30.     from the CLI:

  32.                 stack 32000
  33.  
  34.     (This command should be placed, using your normal editor, into the
  35.     s:user-startup file on your system. If a similar command, with a larger
  36.     number, already exists, do not change it; and do not place this command
  37.     in the file.)

  39. 7)  For CLI users only, enter the following command from the CLI:
  40.  
  41.                 path uucp:c add
  42.  
  43.     (This command should be placed, using your normal editor, into the
  44.     s:user-startup file on your system. If this command already exists,
  45.     do not change it, and do not place this command in the file.)

  47. 8)  For Workbench users only, edit the TOOLTYPES contained in the
  48.     project Icon uucp:c/grn.info to fit your environment.

  51. You are now ready to use GRn. The First time that GRn executes, it will
  52. spend a possibly large amount of time scanning all of the newsgroups that
  53. exist on your system. Do Not Be Alarmed.    :)

  56. which should have been a part of this distribution. For explanations of
  57. run-time parameters and of the tooltypes, please read the file grn.man, which
  58. should also have been a part of this distribution.
