Here are two .LHA files containing the demo version of Prolific's Pro-Board
V3.0. Unpack the disk 1 .LHA onto a floppy called "Pro-Demo:" and disk 2 onto
a floppy called "Pro-Data:" (or unpack onto your hard disk and do ASSIGNs.)
I'm uploading these files on behalf of Prolific, but I'm not associated with
them in any way. So talk to them, not me. They can be reached at
Prolific@cup.portal.com.
Some tips:
- When I ran the provided install script, it gave an error part way
through. Apparently, it was trying to give a message asking for
disk 2. Just give it the disk, and type "Y".
- You may think the program is missing a lot of mouse clicks. In
fact, it only misses a click if the mouse moved while the button
was down. Try to hold the mouse still while clicking...
The rest of this file is the README that came with the disks. Have fun...

=============================================================================
Welcome to the DEMO version of Pro-Board V3.0! This is a
fully functional program with the exception that it cannot
SAVE a data file. However, you can read existing data files
and create your own PCBs to familiarize yourself with the ease
and power we have included in Pro-Board.
At most screens, the <Alt><Help> Hot Key combo will display
a text file describing the functions and options for this menu.
The IFKs are disabled while Help is active. Remember to enter
`Q' to return to normal operation.
The TUTORIAL PCBs are from the manual. Use them to learn about
automatic placement, automatic routing, and the various other
features.
The PCB data files STD5084 and PCB-DEMO-2L are larger files
which can show off Pro-Board's abilities with more complex
PCBs.
A fully functional version of Pro-Lib has been included on the
second disk, along with some sample PCBs for experimentation
and examples of several Library Parts.
Pro-Lib creates Library Parts for those Devices which cannot be
described as a DIP, SIP, or 2-Pin device (such as standard
through-hole ICs, resistor packs, and capacitors and resistors).
The power and ease of use of Pro-Lib allows easy creation of PGA
and PLCC devices, as well as simpler SMT parts and non-standard
through-hole devices such as TO-3 or TO-220 transistors, ZIP memory
packages, custom headers and connectors, etc.
Included with Pro-Board, Pro-Plot is a utility to generate hard
copy. It can print a PCB data file to a dot matrix printer
for a rough draft; to an HPGL or non-HPGL plotter for more
finished work; and to Gerber Photo Plotters for the highest
quality.
In addition, Prolific provides Pro-Net to perform Schematic Capture,
and Pro-Drill to generate True-Drill or Excellon format Drill Files
to save you even more money when you are readying your PCBs for
production.
NOTE ON INSTALLATION
The script "Install_DEMO_HD" will install these two disks to a hard
disk. The script file will instruct you on its use. The
provided PCB files are on the floppy Pro-Data:. They will also
be copied to the same directory as Pro-Board and Pro-Lib in the
installation.
You may also run the programs from backups of these floppies
by specifying `Pro-Data:' as the `Data' and `Lib' disks in the
Configuration screen.
Pro-Board requires the Diamond 12 and 20 point fonts to be in
Fonts:. These are standard fonts, so if you have never
modified the contents of Fonts:, you will not have a problem.
